OOoo you can talk to french fries too!!...It (Charlie) told me he was fried in the same oil as meat. I could smell the chicken off his breath!

Careful, those french fries are sneaky! I bet it was tofu camoued as chicken out to trick carnivores like me.

Patty - how is the booboo?

Not so good, I am getting a little worried because I can't take antibiotics or use any antibiotic creams because I am allergic and it's not healing very well. Actually it's spreading and not looking good and absessed. Sorry for the gross image.

Spent the morning sorting toys and cleaning under the sectional downstairs...trying to get motivated to move the couches up here now...thinking it might solve a lot of my missing sock problems...

Clean the site with salt water. 1 teaspoon salt in a cup of water, microwave for 1 minute. Allow to cool, then clean the site with gauze (if you have some in the house). Those little pads used for removing make-up work well too. You want to keep it clean, the salt water will not hurt it (it might sting a little) & will draw some of the goop out. Do this a couple of times a day.

My dog got her ear bitten & had a puncture hole. I soaked it in salt water 4 times a day for 2 weeks & it healed up.

When I had an abcess from an incision (lovely souvenir from one of my many surgeries), this was the course of action taken until I could see the doctor.

Try to keep the area exposed to air if possible (not really conducive to shopping, I suppose). If not, then cover with gauze to keep it clean.

Thanks Andi, yeah after 5 operations I know the drill. My last 2 incisions abcessed(ceasarians) and the salt water hot compresses work well. Just kind of hard to sit down and do it 3 or 4 times a day right now. LOL

You could make up the saline solution in the morning & keep it in a thermos or something else that would keep it more or less sterile. Leave it in the bathroom, then every time you're in there, spend an extra minute & clean the wound. Multitasking at its best.

Feeling very spoiled today. First my friend brings over a huge play kitchen for Kiera. His daughter is 9 and outgrown it then I went to my friends sample sale and got 1 hoodie, 2 t-shirts for DS, 4 t-shirts for DH and a sooooooo cute velour sweat suit for Kiera in pink with ballerina slippers embroidered on it and the shirt that goes with it has a ballerina on it and another pair of pantaloons for her all for $30!!! He is such a sweet guy!
