Thanks Though I must apologize.... sometimes it gets a bit difficult to read tones in text, and that was my bad.... obviously anyone who is buying enough for a decade is a moron..... it's just going to expire..... and that's just a horrible waste honestly.

Though I must say with a three year old a ten year old and an eleven year old..... I don't think we could have enough toothbrushes..... sometimes I think they eat them for breakfast O.o

Toothbrushes seem to disappear around here, too....like socks in the dryer! I have to say that now that I have seen the Extreme Couponers episode that I don't think I can call my 'stash' a stockpile. Nathan and gang would laugh at me....but that's okay, cause I think they are nuts. I'm with you..a ten year supply is crazy.

I got to watch it and it made me so excited for my couponing; though I'm still very new at it all I am trying my best to save when I can. I wish I was a good as they were, though I dont think I need to stock a hanger for some kinda end of world senario, it would be great to walk out with a few hundred only costing $5 though. Right!

Did anyone else catch that they pay up to $70 for an envie of already clipped coupons? I didn't see any of them factoring that cost in their final price.


We should consider ourselves lucky that save.ca, websaver and brandsaver send them for free. I would never pay that much for an envie of coupons.

I do agree that the cost of the coupons should have been included. $70 would have bought a ton of coupons, though. The P & G brandsavers (whole insert) sell for 70 cents each, General Mills inserts for 35 cents, etc. from the clipping services in the U.S. You can also order multiples of individual coupons. (It is unlikely that all of the coupons she ordered for her $70 were used in her one trip.) They also have a gazillion printables that we don't have. The one thing I really wish we had is catalinas ($ off your next purchase) or 'register rewards'. I shopped in Washington state in early December and at the end of my grocery receipt were catalinas for $ off my next shopping trip.

I caught that, $70 for an envie of $1000 in coupons. Whew.

It's called extreme for a reason. Watching the show kinda made me sick. When you cut quality time with family or friends to go shopping for an item that you may already have in stock, that signals a problem.

I totally agree. As soon as they were giving the totals (money the stuff was worth & what she actually paid) for the first lady, I looked at DH and was like, "They didn't add the $70 she paid for the coupons she bought."

What I found strange was how would you use so much of one item ie/deoderant, toothpaste when they have expiry dates? Unless you are donating who really uses say 100 deoderants?

That first lady is so bad that she has a serious problem. She rather get coupons than spend time with friends and family?! I consider that a big hint that she's got a serious addiction problem! You can get addicted to anything and couponing is no different. Look at their house and her husband clearly isn't happy either

EDIT: these folks make my "stash" look like nothing....I just buy a few months worth (if that sometimes as I got limited coupons) while these extreme couponers do it for YEARS...not just years but a lifetime's supply!!!!

i saw the show last night and came here expecting a lively discussion! SC'ers you do not disappoint! Love all your interesting comments.

as for the jealousy of the US double coupons days - I do agree with the person who pointed out they have high medical bills to contend with. despite our high taxes, the other thing is americans' minimum wage is really low and some jobs like teachers and police officers are paid super low salaries compared to us. (maybe i am wrong here, I am sure someone will correct me if so!!)

either way these folks did seem beyond obsessed!! I end up tossing most of my coupons (gasp)

Yes and she ordered from more than one place also. We don't really know how many she used from that envie. nor did she say anything about all the other sites she ordered from.

I couldn't believe how much salad dressing some of these people had. There is NO WAY they could even use a fraction of that before it expired.

BF watched it with me this time. I knew he'd like the part where the second woman told her son he could not put a certain snack in the cart because she didn't have a coupon for it.

There is also the $35,000 extra insurance on the house because of her stash.
