What is "Rep Power"? + Congrats and thank yous

Thanks everybody who added to my "Power". I can see the info on my User Profile, but my Power still shows as "one".

Is there something special I need to do?

Also, still wondering what "Rep Power" means... is it important?

That I have 79 points. but you can see that it's not listing it.
