A list of a total of 180 cities put out by Moneysense.
Well, the top 35 contains 3 cities I have lived in, including Victoria which is number 2. Woohoo! I was in Victoria again last summer, and the ranking is well deserved.
The city currently live in is in the BOTTOM 40. I think I probabaly could have predicted that! Something is definitely wrong when a lady at city hall tells you that they affectionately call parts of your city "CRACKton"
Take a look and see how your town ranks

That list puts my city of Saskatoon at 15 - up from 22 last year, so that's great!

Okay, there's something wrong with that list. Cape Breton is listed at #170. How the heck can that be? There's no place on Earth I'd rather be.

agree with Dave, there is def something wrong with this list....my town is near the end IMO there are aspects they didn't took in consideration in their survey....
it all depends on who wrote the survey and who answered it i guess

#20 I'm impressed, thought it would be lower. Yay Thunder Bay!

Yes, its definitely questionable methodolgy, they didnt ask people as much as score it on housing prices, income etc so higher end places will always have an edge - I mean really does an increased number of cars per household really make it better place to live?

Yup. I think C.B scored so low because we have high unemployment. Yes, people unemployed isn't good, but there are a lot of other intangible factors to consider. Atmosphere, the people, the history, the culture, the scenery, safety - especially school safety for those with children. I far rather my children grow up in a caring small-town community, than an impersonal big city, despite the economic disadvantes.
I left C.B. for work when I was 23, as many do here, began raising a family elsewhere and wasn't able to bring them home until I was 37. 14 years away, and I died a little more inside each day.
Moneysense can get stuffed. C.B. is 170 to them but it's #1 to me and mine.

Yes, despite the fact Burlington came 3rd, I disagree with the methodology and while it is really nice here, it has its issues

Ahhh..don't you love it when people can judge a place by numbers? how about clean air, access to recreation, do the people who live there like it? always lots more to these things.
