Hi everyone!!!
I just came back from no frills and I have done something it made me feel happy
What happened:
I was waiting in line waiting to pay for my groceries and this lady with her 2 young daughter in front of me. She didn't have enough money in her debit card and maxed out her 2 credit cards she had. So she slowly take stuff off her list one by one and siding her debit card (she had like 20 things) ... after 3 or 4 things one of her daughter said to her mom "mom are we go poor and we all starve to death" and both starts to cry. I felt so sorry for them and I told the cashier to put it all back and paid for her groceries and mine.
At the end the daughters and mom were happy ... She asked for my number and address so she can repay me ... but i just said "no thanks and that you don't need to pay me back"
Before I walked out, a cashier I knew heard what I did and explained to me that she lives in the same building (as the cashier) got divorced and was living off minimum wage, paying rent, support her daughters and have some government support and her ex-husband was a casino addicted drunk.
it's sad to see people living like this. This thread is currently associated with: No Frills

So heartbreaking! No child should have to live like that and know about the burdens of adulthood....innocence lost
You did an amazing thing.

That's so wonderful of you! What a great thing to do.
Perhaps you could ask that cashier to refer her here, to SC, and help her save money that way! I'm sure she'll be able to save a ton and never have to put anything back again!
