It has no effect on purolator. Just remember when you are reading from the Canada post website that that info. Is one sided its from the Corporation. When its in the news it's from both sides

Urban Postal Unit Negotiations (2011) / News Alert
Today, the Operations and Delivery Sub-Tables met to discuss major issues, such as staffing, rotation of duties, householder values, health and safety, contracting-in of Group 3 work, and the workload and work rules of Group 2 workers. There was little progress. There is no indication that CPC is prepared to seriously discuss the real problems facing postal workers as a result of inadequate staffing and the introduction of the Modern Post. For CPC management these negotiations are mainly about eliminating sick leave and imposing less pay and benefits on workers.

National Negotiating Committee and National Executive Board to Meet Over the Weekend
Over the weekend the National Negotiating Committee and National Executive Board will meet to evaluate the situation and plan our next move. In this context, the CUPW National Executive Board has decided not to submit a 72-hour strike notice today. Consequently, there will be no strike activity on May 31st. However, given the refusal of CPC management to address our demands, all members should be prepared to participate in strike action in the very near future.

Looks like this week will be safe atleast till Friday ..as I don't see them giving a 72 hr notice ( If at all they decide to strike ) till maybe Tuesday .

Good atleast the month end May is safe ..lot of stuff comes at the end of the month in the mail

Just received an email, I hope it's not true!
Union workers with Canada Post have rejected the latest offer from the company, and have given 72 hour strike notice. The possibility of job action would start at midnight Thursday

Yupp they have given notice and can strike as early as thurs night.

Nooooooo! Oh dear, how unfortunate.

I suppose there is still hope, but it looks like the last day we will potentially receive mail is this Thursday then (since the strike starts at midnight Thursday).

Any advice on what to do with trains/trades? If we receive any this week should we hold onto them until after the strike?

There could be a last minute acceptance of the offer (made by the union ) by CP management today to avoid the strike
