so what are we to do about our bills? if we don't get them how are we to pay them? I am sure I could just mail what I think my bill is for that month, but I am sure that I will forget a few bills........ hummmmmmm.. and I still haven't got a few trains that I did. and it has been months so now it is even going to be longer........
I am not happy with this one at all....... maybe I should go in to our post office and work will they are on strike....I am sure I could do something to get the mail out and about.....
)
Thank you to Everyone On SmartCanucks for helping me save

Almost all the bills you can check online or over the phone thesedays ..so you will know the amount & due date
...the companies will charge you interest if you don't pay the bills in time irrespective of whether you got a physical bill in the mail or not so be careful ..they don't care

Mailing in a payment isn't going to do much good if CP is on strike
It's not going to reach the company if mail is not being delivered.
Like tjthemanto said, you can probably call and pay over the phone or pay online. If it's something local you could probably pay in person, too. If you are concerned, I would call the companies you have bills with and find out. I am sure they have been getting all kinds of calls and will be able to tell you how you can pay your bill.
You could see if you can get an epost version of the bill - that service (from Canada Post) will email you when your bill is available and you can view it online. Here is a list of participating companies.
Personally, I get most of my bills emailed directly from the company or through epost, so I am not too concerned about missing bills. The only one I get mailed is Cogeco internet and I usually pay online before it shows up anywaysIt's trades, coupons and freebies I am going to miss
I hope this strike will be averted.

Just talking to our mailman and the only mail that will be delivered during the strike is Social Services cheques. Everything else will be at a standstill. It is going to be hard for everyone. My dad was a postal worker. I remember one postal strike and my mom had food stockpiled everywhere in advance and by the end of the strike there was nothing. My dad was the only one bringing in a paycheque so whatever savings we had were for bills. I'm sure there is more then one postal family out there like that now.

UPDATE
June 2, 2011 - 10:40
Urban Postal Unit Negotiations (2011) / News Alert
The strike will begin at 11:59 p.m. EDT in Winnipeg (10:59 p.m. CDT). The Winnipeg local will be on strike for 24 hours, after which the strike will continue in other locations to be announced later.
The purpose of this strike activity is to encourage Canada Post Corporation to abandon their proposals for significant concessions and instead negotiate solutions to the very real problems that are being experienced by 48,000 postal workers.
Winnipeg has been chosen as the location for the first strike activity because it was the first city to be impacted by Canada Post's modernization program. The results have been a sharp deterioration of service to the public as well as a host of health and safety problems experienced by postal workers due to the new work methods and equipment.
CUPW has negotiations demands designed to resolve these problems and we want Canada Post to address them.

Unfortunately, I don't think the postal workers will be moving at thier normal pace when they are not on a 24 hr strike rotation, It's likely they will work to rule, so the mail will be extraordinarily slow......

No, they aren't doing work to rule - that would be a whole different tactic.
