Had such a fantastic experience there the other day.

I did my shopping, approximately $80-$90 worth of shopping, had a full basket. My last stop was the hot foods section, since I didn't want to have the potato wedges I planned on buying cooling while I was shopping the store. I get a large potato wedge. I guess you can say that there are 20-35 wedges (or more) in a box depending on the size. The box is $3.99, so you can imagine it's pretty decent size.

I ask for some ketchup, the girl hands me 2 packets. I say, "can I please have some more? This isn't enough & I do not have more at home to use." She tells me, "I am not supposed to give out anymore than this, but just this once." Really? 2 packets of ketchup for a gigantic box of potato wedges? That's about enough for 2 or 3 of the big ones. We were out of ketchup at home & we buy a brand that they do not carry that my boyfriend prefers. She made me feel like a criminal, lol.

OK, so I got some more ketchup. Fine. I bring up my items to the counter, cash in a $3 Bingo card & get 2 of the new $2 Slots scratch cards. She starts ringing in my items & notices I have my Visa in my hand & tells me I cannot pay for my lotto tickets on Visa. I say to her, "even if I am buying all these items?" & she shakes her head. I buy lotto tickets on Visa all the time.

This was a bit of a breaking point. I was ticked about the ketchup already & told the cashier to give my my $3. I left all the items on the counter & I was out of there.

Never again. I suggest that you do not buy hot foods at Rabba, as they seem to have started limiting their condiments. Don't waste your time having the person behind the counter prepare it only to tell you that you can have two packets of ketchup & limit you to how many napkins you can have or whatever.

Well I really don't think anything bad happened here at all.

Limiting ketchup sounds silly but IIRC mcD's does that too with McNugget sauce. And she gave it to you in the end, with an explanation why she wasn't supposed to. Sounds like she was just trying to do her job.

As for the VISA for lottery tickets, your complaint is with the Government of Ontario and not Rabba. The province does not allow lottery tickets to be purchased on credit cards - EVER. It is exactly like how they used to keep grocery stores from accepting credit cards.

If you buy lottery tickets on your CC all the time, the retailer could face a fine; lose the ability to sell lottery tickets ever again; and definitely VISA will not pay them that charge.

Sorry OP but I think your behaviour was very wrong in this situation.

As far as the ketchup the girl was just doing their job, you have to remember they are a business and aren't there to give you things for free. If you wanted more ketchup you could have gone and bought a whole bottle, it's not their job to give you as much ketchup as you need for free.

There are a lot of places that won't let you buy Lotto on your credit card, it's a fraud issue that they are worried about.

For you to storm out of the store and leave the poor cashier to have to re-stock all of your $80-90 purchase is very immature and considering it was over $3 lotto and free ketchup it's rather disgusting.

why didnt you just buy a bottle of ketchup ur at a grocery store anyways. Its not like you were at a fast food joint. I think you took it too personal.
