another newbie

Hi everyone

I am completely new to couponing and not quite sure of the rules but I am trying to get as much info as possible and I'm already hooked on this ite! I have been looking up anne dougherty thread for the last two weeks and I think that she is amazing at what she does! Now I guess i just have to start collecting... and how do i use multiple coupons at the same place? Do i have to make many different transactions? Anyone who has any good advice, tips, tricks for me with anything to do with couponing, I'm all ears!!! Thanks in advance and I can't wait to start saving!

Hello and welcome to the site. You'll have a blast here learning how to save money and the deals that people will find and post here. I'll try to answer some of your questions:

Multiple coupons at the same place:

You can use many coupons in any transaction (trip to the cash register) - one for each product you are purchasing. For example if you're buying 6 packs of Royale Toilet Tissue and you have 6 coupons you can use them all in the same trip to the cash register UNLESS the coupons say that it's a limit of 4 coupons used at a time. Then you'd have to make a second trip through the cash for the rest of the Royale Toilet tissue you wanted to buy - but it's rare that a coupon states that.


Multiple coupons on the same product:

There are very few places you can do this.
London drugs will let you stack coupons and I believe that they have to be different coupons for the same product but maybe someone from the west can speak more on that since I"m in the east and can't do stacking.

Atlantic Superstore and Real Canadian Superstores MAY allow you to use a manufacturers coupons AND a coupon zone coupon on the same product but it seems to be different in each store. My superstore will only allow it if neither coupons says "cannot be combined with any other offer" or anything like that and that is now printed on all the coupon zone coupons so I can't stack a manufacturer coupons and a coupon zone coupon on the same products.

Getting coupons:
These are the 4 main online coupons sites:
Gocoupons.ca - ships fast and can be ordered every week (I think)
Save.ca - ships fast but limits how often you can order a particular coupon
Websaver.ca - ships slower - a few weeks - and also limits how often you can get a particular coupon.
Brandsaver.ca - ships slower - a few weeks - you get a certain set of coupons every few months.

Tip for websaver.ca - Don't order every coupon - save a few in "reserve" because sometimes they will post a new coupon you want but they have a minimum of 4 coupons per order so if you don't have 3 other coupons you can order, you can't get the new one (this drives me nuts!)

Tip for maximizing coupons: Using coupons on sale item and bargain bin items can ofter get you the item at a VERY cheap price. Using coupons on BIGI sales is a great way to stock up.

Tip for learning: Read the brag section and the coupon discussions section of this site. These are both great places to learn how other people are maximizing their coupons and getting amazing deals!
