Oh!
That's the sort of horror story that would float through my head at night in bed when my two were munchkins.
I can't even *imagine*. Those poor parents.

I try and be careful too. But when you're standing in Walmart or Zellers picking out that present how do you TELL it's a lead covered toy or not?
Ya don't know...

This is just crazy.
The government needs to step in and do something.
This is not random, it is becoming like an epidemic.
Our kids toys need to be regulated more closely, and higher standards in place.
Gosh, they regulate everything else it seems

You just don't know what to buy. Between toys, and some foods...

Here are pics of the recalled items.

We have a Thomas Table & Chair set and we were so upset when we found another set cheaper at Walmart. It looks like it's just sheer luck that we ended up getting the set without lead paint even though it was more expensive.

I know. I was going to buy the shelving set with the buckets... I'm really glad I decided to wait.
What makes me mad is that they are cool toys that are getting recalled. Makes me not want to buy any toys at all. With Christmas coming it's going to be extra hard.

I ordered two Raggedy Ann dolls from her and a Capitan Binky. They are stunning! Such amazing craftsmanship.

I knit my nieces hats and scarves... I'm wondering if I should order a set of Raggedy Ann & Andy for them too.

Maybe it's time we go back to local manufacturing of toys and stop being lazy consumers. Importing will only harm our economy on the long run.
