Well said! I love reading the brags - it gives me ideas and brings to light some of the deals I would otherwise miss, regardless if they are in a flyer or not.
Keep the brags coming SCers. They are great!!

Every single one of us has power. That's what coupons are all about.
We also have the power and the responsibility to make SC a safe, positive welcoming place.
Let's all embrace that and choose to use our power to keep the vibe positive.
After all, if we want negative , we have only to look at the world we live in and frankly, I've had enough of that.
And thank you Boo for starting this little gem of a site and to all the admins who keep it ticking along.
The internet is a better place because of people like you.......

I really like hearing about everyones best shopping deals, it helps me know what's out there, where to go... It has also given me the confidence to keep going out there in search of better deals, better stores and I'm learning a lot. So, thanks to all... especially those who got me onto the purina one coupons... I've paid under $3 for about 3kg of dog food (when your dog is 90 pounds, that doesn't last long, but every bit helps). I'm also trying new products because of the brags.
But I won't support any brags that encourage shelf clearing, damaging packaging to get extra coupons, grabbing half the tear pad. That's just sad.

I LOVE the brag section- I think I've learned more from it than I have through all the articles/posts I've read online. The brags often help me come up with coupon deals/combos I never would have thought of on my own.
I agree that it would be REALLY nice if people would stop crapping on one another here. It's getting to the point where some people are scared to post their deals for fear they'll be attacked.
To be fair, sometimes I have questions about brags... but it's not because I'm trying to make someone feel bad or put them on the defensive. I think this can be said for a lot of people- because so many of us use brags for educational purposes, it's natural to want to know things like, "Where did you get your coupons from? Did you use P&G coupons with the 'limit 4 like coupons' wording, or the new ones? If you used to ones with the limit, did you have to break it into seperate transactions or did the cashier just sort of ignore the fine print? Did you have any trouble doing this?"
I guess my point is, there can be a difference between wanting to know something and attacking them. Like, if someone says they used 10 P&G coupons to get trial-sized Olay, I think it's fine to ask "How did you do that, if so many of the coupons have a limit of 4? Did you use a different coupon? How could I do the same thing?" I don't think it's okay to go on a tirade about shelf-clearing or how 'coupons weren't intended for use on trial-sized items?"
Just my two cents.

I agree with you- that is sad. I think that we can 'not support' something without saying anything, though.
Actually, that's something I've noticed recently... someone might have a brag like you've mentioned above, and they'll get a ton of replies. Some people will be supportive, but a lot of people will post opinions about whether the OP is 'right' or 'wrong'. Personally, I find it a bit frustrating because everytime someone posts, it bumps those threads to the top. There are a lot of really good legitimate brags that get pushed to the bottom with little/no replies because so many people are focusing on the negative.
I don't think that helps anyone- if anything, it can cause more harm. The people that come to this forum for information will see all the 'bad stuff' at the top- but might not read all the responses. They're then going to go out and try to do the same thing, achieve the same results.
By ignoring the brags of people who've used less-than-ethical methods of obtaining coupons/items- and responding to people who have 'good' brags- we'd basically be pushing the negative stuff to the bottom, where other people can't see/learn from it.
I guess my point is that there are a lot of people here with good intentions- but by commenting on the negative, we're almost creating a perpetual cycle and rewarding bad behavior. I've decided to stop responding to 'bad' threads and just ignore them.... though it might be hard because I have a big mouth.
