Someone woke up on top of the world
Did you ever see an elephant fly
Well I seen a horse fly
I seen a dragon fly
I seen a house fly
I seen all that too
I seen a peanut stand
And heard a rubber band
I seen a needle that winked its eye
But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly
What'd you say boy
I said when I see a elephant fly
I seen a front porch swing
Heard a diamond ring
I seen a polka dot railroad tie
But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly
I saw a clothes horse and he rear up and buck
And they tell me that a man made a vegetable truck
I didn't see that, I only heard
Just to be sociable I'll take your word
I heard a fireside chat
I saw a baseball bat
And I just laughed till I thought I'd die
But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly
But I've been, done, seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly
When I see an elephant fly

Superflare Blasts Proxima b,
the Nearest Exoplanet, Dimming Hopes of Life
An artist's illustration of a flare from Proxima Centauri, modeled after the loops of glowing, hot gas seen in the largest solar flares. The planet Proxima b, seen here in an artist's impression, orbits Proxima Centauri 20 times closer than Earth orbits the sun. A flare 10 times larger than a major solar flare would blast Proxima b with 4,000 times more radiation than Earth gets from solar flares.

The rocky planet circling the closest star to the sun got hammered by a superpowerful flare last year, a new study reports.
That's a bit of bad news for anyone hoping that the alien world, known as Proxima b, hosts life.
"It's likely that Proxima b was blasted by high-energy radiation during this flare," study lead author Meredith MacGregor, of the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C., said in a statement. [Proxima b: Closest Earth-Like Planet Discovery in Pictures]
"Over the billions of years since Proxima b formed, flares like this one could have evaporated any atmosphere or ocean and sterilized the surface, suggesting that habitability may involve more than just being the right distance from the host star to have liquid water," she added.

Do you really want to sleep with dogs or cats.
Think about it.

Bubonic Plague: The Role of Dogs in the Spread of Plague
Dogs Can Help Transmit Plague to Humans or Cats
Because dogs aren't very susceptible to developing plague infection, their role in an outbreak is often that of carrier. Dogs can pick up fleas that are infected with Yersinia pestis in rodent-infested areas and carry them to humans or cats, where they can bite and transmit plague.
When there is an outbreak of plague in a rodent population, the prairie dogs, mice, rats, or rabbits in that population often die off fairly quickly. This leaves all of their infected fleas looking for a host to feed from. They are eager to jump on a passing dog.
Cats are very susceptible to developing plague.
Bubonic plague. The Black Death. Pestilence. These are all terms that strike fear into the hearts of humans everywhere. This infection has taken the lives of millions of people over the centuries. It might surprise you to know that, not only does plague still take lives today, but it is present in the United States, mostly in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Cats and Plague
Cats are extremely vulnerable to developing illness when they are exposed to Yersinia pestis. They are also a very common source of infection to humans. There are three symptom sets that plague can develop into:
- Bubonic plague: This is the most common variation of plague in humans and cats. The bacteria heads to the lymph node that is closest to their point of entry into the body. The lymph node then swells, becomes painful, and often bursts, becoming a draining sore. These painful lymph nodes are called buboes.
- Septicemic plague: This type of plague occurs when the bacteria multiply in the blood stream rather than the lymphatic system.
- Pneumonic plague: This is the least common but most deadly form of plague. It can occur in late stages of the other forms of plague, when the bacteria moves to the lungs, or it can develop when a person contracts plague by breathing it in from droplets that have been coughed into the air by a victim already suffering from pneumonic plague. This is a dangerous form of plague because it is very easily spread and it is more resistant to treatment than other forms.
How Can Cats Transmit Plague to People?
Cats can transmit plague to humans by biting or scratching them. People can be exposed to the illness through direct contact with a plague cat's draining lymph node material (buboes). An infected cat may also carry fleas that can transmit Yersinia pestis to humans by biting them. If a cat has the pneumonic form of plague, it can easily be spread to humans through the air. Owners and veterinarians are at risk of contracting plague when dealing with an infected cat.

Alerts for: City of Toronto
Statements
4:58 AM EST Thursday 01 March 2018
Special weather statement in effect for:
- City of Toronto
Winter weather returns with potential for a significant snowfall tonight.
A rain and wet snow mix is expected to move into the Greater Toronto Area early this evening as a strengthening low pressure system approaches the Great Lakes. As the low pressure passes by to the south, brisk northeasterly winds will pull in colder air and cause the precipitation to turn over to all snow this evening.
Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected by Friday morning.
There remains some uncertainty as to the exact track and intensity of the low pressure area. This will affect how much snow falls across the area, as the Toronto area will be near the northern edge of this late winter snowstorm.
In addition, strong and gusty northerly winds may result in local blowing snow and very poor visibility in exposed areas tonight.
The snow should taper off late overnight or early Friday morning as the low pressure system moves away from the area. Although the worst of the conditions are expected tonight, the Friday morning commute will likely still be affected.
