COVID-19: Our commitment. To our guests, At McDonald’s, we live and work in communities across Canada. We feel a deep-rooted responsibility for the health and safety of our people, their families and the communities we serve. In response to COVID-19 we are actively working to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our restaurants. Here’s what we’re doing: Supporting our employees is our priority We are recommending employees to stay home from work if they experience any symptoms or have recently travelled abroad to impacted areas. McDonald’s corporate-owned restaurants in Canada and many of our franchisees have existing policies in place to offer paid time off. Focus on cleanliness in our restaurants In our restaurants, we remain focused on cleanliness. In addition to our industry-leading hygiene standards, we have increased the frequency of many cleaning tasks with a focus on high-touch surfaces, including; door handles, kiosks, pin pads, counters, tables and, washrooms. In abundance of precaution we have also made the decision to temporarily close our PlayPlaces at restaurants across Canada and postpone our Wednesday Family Night activities. These changes will allow our Restaurant Teams to focus on the enhanced cleaning and sanitation of our restaurants. Changes to our coffee refill and reusable mug procedures We’ve changed some of our procedures— a simple change like how we refill your coffee in-restaurant and, we have temporarily stopped accepting travel mugs. Serving you We will continue to serve you in many ways; in our restaurants, at the drive-thru, with the My McD’s® app, and McDelivery™ through our partnerships with Uber Eats and Skip The Dishes. For more than 50 years, McDonald’s commitment to the communities we operate and live in has endured. Today, that same commitment continues to guide all our actions. An Update on the Current Public Health Environment As Canada's leading restaurant brand, we take our responsibility to the health and safety of you – our guest – team members and restaurant owners very seriously. Over the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the evolving health situation and have been working to ensure that we are keeping your interests at the heart of every decision we make and everything we do. I wanted to reach out to share an update on what the Tim Hortons® team is doing to help keep you safe when you visit us. Health and Safety: We have robust cleaning and sanitation procedures in place at restaurants. Team members regularly wash their hands – and always do so when switching tasks – and frequently wipe down pin-pads, door handles, tables, chairs and surfaces. In recent weeks, we have also increased how often we clean and sanitize and are even temporarily pausing accepting reusable cups in restaurants to further improve safety. Teamwork: We are working hard with our amazing restaurant owners and their team members to always do the right thing for you. We have been Canada’s favourite coffee for over 55 years because you trust that we will do the right thing. We want you to know that we will always strive to do the right thing. Experts: We are connected with experts and are regularly taking advice on health and safety from public health officials. As information and guidance from public health officials changes, we will reassess and change our procedures and protocols accordingly. Roll Up The Rim to Win®: For the first time in 35 years we made changes to our Roll Up The Rim contest. It was an incredibly tough decision, however we believe eliminating paper Roll Up The Rim cups was the right thing for guests and team members. You can play Roll Up The Rim digitally by scanning your Tims RewardsTM card and rolling up the rim on the Tim Hortons app or at timhortons.ca/roll-up-the-rim and everyone has the chance to instantly win a hot beverage in restaurant. Second Cup has stopped taking cash as a precautionary measure & no more using ceramic cups for now. The self-serve station the had for adding your own amounts of cream & sugar is also gone. They will now add any extras that you want.

Day care centers are now closed as well as libraries. You can still get e-books from the library.

A teacher brought balloons to school and asked the children to blow them all up and then each write their names on their balloon.They tossed all the balloons into the hall while the teacher mixed them from one end to the other. The teacher then gave them 5 minutes to find the balloon with their name on it. The children ran around, looking frantically but as the time ran out - nobody had found their own balloon…Then the teacher told them to take the balloon closest to them and give it to the person who’s name was on it. In less than 2 minutes everyone had their own balloon.Finally the teacher said, “Balloons are like happiness. No one will find it looking for theirs only. Instead if everyone cares about each others they will find theirs as quickly as possible.”
