This is it Q sters,

4 more days till Christmas & most likely in full lock down. Somehow I still don't think all will obey. Somewhere, somebody will have a family get together with more than their family unit. We'll find at 1pm today. Boxing day will not happen like we know it, with the stores being closed. Online shopping will be the rage. Hopefully all of you Q sters are all safe & healthy. Christmas will just be the 2 of us & that's ok. As much as we want 2020 to be over, 2021 will continue the same way till probably the Summer, when, hopefully the vaccines will help people.
I have 3 1/2 days of work this week, before I'm off for the rest of the year. Stay happy & safe.

Dec. 21 marks the official start to astronomical winter in the Northern Hemisphere, which features the shortest day and the longest night - - and the longest night of 2020 will kick off with a rare planetary event that is perfect for folks with a telescope.
Jupiter and Saturn have been prominent features in the night sky all year long, but shortly after the first sunset of winter, the pair will join forces to shine incredibly bright for just a few fleeting hours.
“The two giant planets will appear just a 10th of a degree apart – that's about the thickness of a dime held at arm's length,” NASA explained.

Happy Tuesday Q sters,

3 more days to go.
Had a look several times in the sky, but with the cloud cover & rain, was able to see the Christmas star. It would have been great to see it, but will now have to wait another 800 years before it happens again. Good news, days will start to get longer.
Ontario goes into a province wide lockdown on the 26th, for 14 days in the north & 28 days in the south. Not quite as bad as in the spring, but hopefully this will stop the accelerated up swing in covid cases. Somehow I think that we will hear about people partying during New Year's, when they shouldn't.
I, for 1 will enjoy the time off I have between Christmas & New Year's, before heading back to the grind on the 4th.

Happy Hump Day Q sters,

2 days to go till Christmas.
Today is Christmas lunch day at work, where the company buys us lunch. We've all placed our orders for Swiss Chalet. Can't wait, it should be good. We all will be physical distancing, which is not hard when you only have 7 people working there.
Today will be warm with the possibility of rain, which could be heavy at times. Get time to get out & wash your vehicle for free.

Potentially heavy rain followed by snow for Christmas.

Rain is forecast to begin tonight ahead of an approaching low pressure system. This rain will then continue into Thursday and become heavy at times. Total rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm appear likely.

By Thursday evening or Thursday night, the rain is expected to change over to snow after the passage of a strong cold front. A few centimetres of snowfall accumulation will be possible Thursday night through Friday morning.

There remains considerable uncertainty as to the exact track of this low pressure system and the timing of the changeover from rain to snow. This will ultimately affect how much snow may fall at any particular location.

Motorists should be prepared for deteriorating winter driving conditions in areas that receive snow Christmas eve into Christmas Day.

Happy Friday Jr, Q sters,

We're finally here, Twas the night before Christmas. 1 more sleep & the big day will have arrived. Time is up, presents need to be wrapped, ready to be put under the tree tonight.
It has been raining quite hard most of the night & will continue until the temp starts to drop around noon, then it may change to freezing rain, before it finally changes into white stuff for Santa's ride around the world. Tomorrow, some of us will wake up to as much as 15cms of white stuff. 4 hours of work, then I'm free for the rest of the year. WooHoo!
