No shopping for me today, I don't feel like facing crowds like this -

I'll be going tomorrow or the next day to check out some sales, I don't know how some people get up at 5 a.m. and line up outside the stores

Got some nice gifts for Christmas yesterday including a big book about Paul McCartney, Big Sugar CD, George Carlin DVD, cat T shirt, Cat bag, Amish popcorn and seasoning, mitts (like the ones I got ripped off for last year!), Grand Marnier, a few liquers, teddy bear I saw and liked at the exhibition so my daughter bought it, and this big jewellery case to keep my stuff in

My daughter did well amongst other things I got her the HD camera/video she wanted and a new Ipod and some money to to spend on boxing day. I was just going to get a new battery for her older Ipod but turned out it was damaged so I got her a new one.

Discount shopping
A young man was walking through a supermarket to pick up a few things when he noticed an old lady following him around. Thinking nothing of it, he ignored her and continued on. Finally he went to the checkout line, but she got in front of him.
“Pardon me,” she said, “I’m sorry if my staring at you has made you feel uncomfortable. It’s just that you look just like my son, who just died recently.”
“I’m very sorry,” replied the young man, “is there anything I can do for you?”
“Yes,” she said, “As I’m leaving, can you say ‘Good bye, Mother’? It would make me feel so much better.”
“Sure,” answered the young man.
As the old woman was leaving, he called out, “Goodbye, Mother!”
As he stepped up to the checkout counter, he saw that his total was $127.50.
“How can that be?” He asked, “I only purchased a few things!”
“Your mother said that you would pay for her,” said the clerk.

i don't normally go out on boxing day , but it wasn't that bad as far as i was concerned. picked up some good deals, a new wireless mouse, the last 2 dvds of the harry potter series( yes i like the movie series), a couple of fleecy sweaters & a couple of turtlenecks. i found the crowds weren't that bad, it might have been worst at best buy, future shop or the furniture/appliance stores. no big line ups & i was done in less that 2 hours including drive time. hope everyone had a great day shopping, relaxing or whatever you did. back to work for me tomorrow, but something tells me it might be a very boring day. see you tomorrow.

Cannabis Christmas tree lands man in Jail

"O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! much pleasure thou can'st give me," goes a favourite carol. "How often has the Christmas tree afforded me the greatest glee!"
Unfortunately, Ian Richards, who lives in Kent, England, won't find out how much happiness his unique tree will give him.
That's because police found a large cannabis plant resembling a Christmas tree -- complete with brightly-coloured baubles -- while conducting a raid on his home last December.
A judge sentenced Richards to 18 months behind bars for drug offences last month, a police spokesman told The Guardian newspaper on Friday.
Investigating officer Darren Dennett told the paper that "by using a 5 foot tall cannabis plant as a Christmas tree, Richards showed a total disregard for the law."
He said that one of the bedrooms in Richards' home had been "transformed into a very sophisticated cannabis factory.
"He claimed the plants were for his own personal use but the factory clearly had the potential to produce a large quantity of cannabis."
