    Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

I *think* I enjoyed my day. I'm not really sure, cause I've only been awake 3ish hours. Here's hoping I can kill this cold with sleep.

The treat dispensers came by with chicken soup. I thought I dreamed it, until I found the soup in the fridge. I wonder if the critters are slipping me happy pills so they can take over???

Going back to bed. Here's hoping I'm human by tomorrow. Or at the very least awake.

    Night all.

    Good evening Q'Bees!

I hope everyone had a good day!

I was wrapping gift this am for a bit and came across something I picked up
in Macy's a few weeks ago. They had forgotten to removed the tag.
I was not about to drive to Buffalo to have the tag removed so I called the store
and asked them how I remove it.
Long story short, the gentleman I spoke with placed me on hold and wen to get me
some sort of answer. Love and behold, he returned and asked if I had a Winners
store near me. If so, he said I should go there as they have the same security tags and they can removed if for me.
I had no idea Winners and Macy's were part of the same company....
I asked the guy and he said we are close friends....

Why then would they know about the security tags in a Canadian Store?
Any how I went there and set the alarm off on my way in....
I had my receipt and they were nice enough to remove the tag for me.
Turns out, it had red dye in it.
I assumed it had dye, it was the colour I was not sure of.

I baked a few dozen cookies yesterday and still have more to go....
Along with a pumpkin pie, cheesecake.... mince meat pie!
It is tiring doing all this baking....

Hope everyone is just about ready for Santa.....

    I will catch you again......soon!

I was sure I'd win tickets to the Q breakie today - I even put off meeting some people tonight thinking I'd have to be up too early! I guess they did send out the invites before today, but the rules said they would draw them on Dec. 22!!! Geez. Oh well, I never heard back from Shaun either....

    Voted Best Joke in Ireland

John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life,
between the legs of me wife!"

That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night!

He went home and told his wife, Mary, "I won the prize for the Best toast of the night."

She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?" John said, "Here's to spending
the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife."

"Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said.

The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner.

The man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the other night at the pub
with a toast about you, Mary."

She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he's only
been in there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time
I had to pull him by the ears to make him come with me."

With all the MIL kerfuffle, I almost forget to tell you - I got Hubby THE best Xmas present ever. Can you say bacon (wrapped fillet)?

The release/consent forms have been signed and returned and the e-card was e-mailed today. Thanks to Global TV's recent Ultimate Keg eCard Contest, Hubby will receive a $1,000 Keg Gift Certificate in his stocking.

Got the notice of the win on Monday - same day as my discussion with EGH patient services AND the same day I went back to my former place of employment to return my pass and building/office/desk/credenza keys. Until the phone call, it had been an abysmal day. Actually, I lie, even after the call, I was still so bummed about the employment thing that even the thought of a dinner (or two or three or ....) at the Keg didn't bring me out of my funk. But now that MIL is doing better and the gift certificate is actually here, my spirits are lifting.

It's beginning to "seem" a lot like Christmas .....

Quelle surprise!! Guess who was walking down the hall when her visitors got off the elevator this afternoon?

MIL's strength of character was never in question so I guess it all came down to the ability of those in charge of her care to actually believe in and work with her to make a recovery happen. She was totally exhausted by her hallway journey, so having her rest for the remainder of the day wasn't a problem. I can hardly wait to have words with her about doing too much too soon!!
Great news Argo. I'm very glad that she is doing better, and things are working out for her. I'm so happy that you put your foot down and got her the care she needs. Merry Christmas!
