I have been straight all along with my mom. I have been encouraging her and also telling her that unless she continues to work hard with the physio and occupational therapists she will not be able to return home... to live on her own.
I just didn't want her entire world as she has known it for 85 years crashing in on her all at once...
As for patience.... We are trying.....
She likes everything to be done yesterday!

Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

We're still waiting for the window washer thief to make an appearance (apparently, he called it quits at the column of windows next door). Let's hope the brats give me warning before I come out of the shower! Eeek!!!
Better go see what happened in SC land.
Night all.

Mmmme I'm sorry about your mom's situation and your's having to deal with it. We went through a lot with my dad after a really bad stroke when he was only in his 50's so I know how it feels only a whole lot earlier in life. Whatever the age it is never easy, I wish you and your mom strength....
It was rainy half the day so we went shopping in the little shops and then got at least a few hours out in the sun on the beach. Again, hoping this group next door can keep it down somewhat after midnight or so................They seem like they want to be nice but I know what it's like when you want to party with a group like that............
Tommorrow should be nice out...............

evening Q sters,
HAPPY TUESDAY!
it may have been a cloudy day, but still warm & no rain in my neighbourhood, but Milton apparently got hit with rain. spent the day replacing 1 of the hoses for the pool. it had developed a pinhole & was leaking on the weekend & had to wait till today to get a new one. all fixed & no more leak. did some gardening, found a permanant home for my rain barrell & set it all up & finally replaced the worn out weather stripping around the front door. no more wind blowing thru the cracks. tomorrow i'm going to tackle replacing the stairs to the pool deck. they finally fell apart at the end of last year & didn't get to fixing them thru the winter. the guy that built the deck originally did a really poor job on the stairs, just 2 2x6 boards, cut on angles at both ends, then 10 2x2 nailed, 5 on each board so the stairs could be nailed to those. i bought 2 of those per cut stair frames so i can just screw the stair boards directly to frames, less chance of them falling apart the way they did.
hope everyone had a great day.
BIG CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW BLUE HEART, JESTER!
well deserved.
you got that right, Lee, it's already ski season,
BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DAD, MADCHIVES!
Great pics, Rockit. thanx for sharing them.
RIP Andy Griffith
you will be missed
The body of Andy Griffith, a North Carolina native and actor who for years won over audiences with his folksy appeal, was buried Tuesday morning less than five hours after he died.He passed away at around 7 a.m. ET at his home on Roanoke Island, authorities reported.
At the request of his family, Griffith's body was lowered into a grave on the island at about 11:30 a.m. ET, according to a funeral spokesperson who declined to be named, citing the sensitivity of the matter.
"It had been planned for some time," said the spokesperson, who declined to reveal where on the island the body was buried.
"This was the wish of his family."
Most known for his role as the sheriff of Mayberry on the CBS series "The Andy Griffith Show," Griffith died Tuesday after an unspecified illness and "has been laid to rest on his beloved Roanoke Island," the family said in a statement.

But the speed with which the public learned of his death and was informed of his burial seemed especially fast, according to some observers.
"It's not very common," said Larry F. Stegall, executive director of the state's Funeral Directors Association. "I don't recall having heard of it, and I've been here 32 years."
Traditional funeral customs often allow for a more extended period between death and burial, so family and friends may have more opportunity to visit and pay their respects.
Still, said Stegall, "the family's wishes are always abided by."
"Andy was a person of incredibly strong Christian faith and was prepared for the day he would be called Home to his Lord," Griffith's wife, Cindi, said in a statement on Tuesday.
A member of the Television Hall of Fame, Griffith also was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame and Museum in 2007. His 1996 album, "I Love to Tell the Story -- 25 Timeless Hymns," netted him a Grammy Award.
Born in Mount Airy, North Carolina, in 1926, Griffith was a 1949 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a degree in music.Last edited by the H team; Tue, Jul 3rd, 2012 at 11:20 PM.

Mmmme, you've had quite a time the last few months. glad that your mom is recovering, but sorry to hear that it's going slowly. i do understand & sympathize with your mom that when your as active & independent as your mom was & now can't do the things you use to & have to rely on others to help or do things that you use to, it's hard & frustrating. you're doing the right thing & i'm sure your mom will come around. this may also help add an incentive to her working at her physio. sending you, your mom & family positive vibes & prayers for a speedy recovery.
btw, thanx for the update on Elmo.NASCAR SEASON is complete for 2021.
