What a fantastic week-end with good friends and fantastic weather!!! We picked a great week to be on vacation!!!

...this is a really weird week in my head.....this time last year, we were back and forth to Sunnybrook, hoping my bro would be OK after his crash, and of course, he wasn't....I've been thinking all week here...
.... Tuesday night was the last sleep in his bed he would ever have...
.... he was still alive on the Wed afternoon...
.... he was passing by my 401 exit with seconds to live....
.... we were at the hospital on the Wed evening, hoping against hope he would be OK...I was his big sister, and when he got home, I was going to kick his butt soooo hard for scaring us all....
....the neurosurgeon was to let us know about brain scan results on the Sunday, and what the prognosis was....

....I know I am infinitely more affected my my bro's passing than my mum's 6 years ago.....in my mind, parents SHOULD pass before you, but not a younger sibling....
....oh, BTW, I can't remember if I mentioned or not, his oldest daughter did a videotaped interview telling the story of what happened, and it was entered into the DonateHollywood.org competition, which is to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation....it took second place.....
...if I didn't send the link, or even if I did, here it is again...it can't be stressed enough that more people should consider organ donation...we don't have him anymore, but because of him, at least 3 people are living better lives...a beautifully selfless legacy indeed...

Such a tragic story, so very sorry for your loss, but what a beautiful tribute to your brother - thanks for sharing!! Although it's still heart wrenching, there must be some solace in knowing that others have benefited from his final gifts, the tremendous joy he has given others, and that he still lives through them!!!
