    Well, the world is not co-operating with me this week. It looks as though my girlfriend will not be able to get a new flight until next Monday night. There will be no available coverage for me to take any vacation time while she is here. I am back working this week so at least I am not sitting home alone. Hopefully I can win concert tickets while she is here then we will at least have something to look forward to.

    My daughter and I both signed our donor application before she went in for her big surgery at the beginning of June. I was in tears when I physically put those documents in an envelope and put postage on them. I always said that I wanted to be a donor, but never actually put it in writing until then. There is always a risk with any surgery - as simple or complicated as they may be, but just the thought of my daughter initiating the donor application at that time knowing the risks of surgery choked me up....

    When we were in the surgical waiting room at HSC at the time of my daughter's surgery, we met another mom & dad whose 7 year old son was in the process of receiving a liver transplant and I think the main vein transplant (aorta???). They were ecstatic that Jake was getting a second chance.... Seeing how happy this family was reconfirmed that we did the right thing....

    Today started out sunny, but it started clouding over and drizzled mid afternoon.... there was no thunder or lightning, so we kept swimming, etc.... I looked across the lake and the water was perfectly still... I said to hubby that it was perfect skiing conditions.... not 5 minutes later did my son suggest that we go skiing... lol... here are some pics of my son and his girlfriend "showing off" I didn't show off... I was just glad that I was able to slalom and not fall
