Wow what a beautiful place, all those waterfalls - all those pics are great 22! I seen the skywalk at the Grand Canyon but didn't walk out on it! I was in Jasper but those other places I haven't checked out but would love to!!!

Those birds are beautiful too - I always cringe when I think of some of them captured and kept in cages, it's so sad when their freedom is taken away from them for someone's profit or whatever!!! People may like to look at them but I don't think they like to sit in a little cage day after day after day after day.........

Neville Park coyote strikes again, attacking small dog

Experts say that while pets are natural prey, parents need not be concerned for children's safety.

When Chris Peters named his small, fluffy white dog “Cujo” he was just being funny.


“It was ironic,” Peters said, referring to the eponymous Stephen King novel about a killer dog. “He was feisty for his size, but very loving.”

So for Peters, the death of his beloved Maltese in a coyote attack on Wednesday was a real-life horror story.

About 11 p.m., Peters let Cujo into the backyard, which backs onto the Neville Park ravine in the Beach. As Cujo trotted around the snowy yard, a dark figure darted out of the bushes.

“The coyote grabbed him, and I ran off after it, yelling,” Peters said. But the animal disappeared into the darkness.

After a few minutes, Peters spotted his diminutive dog lumbering up a nearby hill. He didn’t look good.

“We took him to the hospital, but he had to be euthanized,” Peters said.

Cujo isn’t the first neighbourhood pet to be plucked from a Neville Park backyard by a coyote. In 2009, the Star reported about Zoe, a Chihuahua snatched from her backyard. Cats have been going missing for years. Last spring, neighbours shot a video of a seemingly fearless coyote playing with two golden retrievers, separated only by a chain-link fence.
