Happ Stretchered off the field

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ had to be stretchered off the field after being hit in the head with a line drive back to the mound from Desmond Jennings.

That was REALLY scary !!!!!!!!!!

Had another day of lots of walking to downtown and back and around! Stopped in the Humane Society on the way to see if Monkey was out of her cage yet. She is one of them chosen to be free in the communal room with the others but they have to test them first, she was still there today and I asked Sarah - she said she hasn't been eating much so they have to monitor her for that for a few daysI fear she may be getting depressed and who would blame her being dropped off like that and spending her time in a cage. She is just so sweet when I come to see her - I went and got her a few treats and put a few drops of peppermint on her towel which they do to help pick up a pud's spirits when she is depressed - geez I hope she gets out of there soon......I was going to go back again but I'll be there tomorrow so I'll check on her then - I got the feeling she could use lots of love.......

Saturday really made me feel good with around 10 getting adoped (really glad for Buddy who was looking sad and Rico who was frustrated being only a year and a half etc etc!!!), and three dogs found a home too!!! I spent $28 at the Garage Sale they had - they've been doing it yearly and I like to give the money to the H.S. and usually get a few nice things. This time I got a pud travel mug, a pud mug which were both worth a bit, 7 DVD's, one CD, a pud book, a planter, and while on the theme of pud things - I also got a sort of pud ornament that will hold other things!!! but those few things would have cost quite a bit more and they were all new.

Critters are annoyed with me that I let the treat dispensers leave today. Even dinner wasn't enough to get back on their good sides. I have liver treats and banana chips dehydrating right now, to try to make the brats happy (I've given up trying to be the one in charge around here ).

Off to see what I missed today.
