Loocie is back from a mini getaway,
& feeling it would be nice to press the replay,
Perfect weather, perfect lake,
I even bbq’ed a perfect steak!
Went for a swim & played on a noodle,
Sat on the dock & on Rob Ford’s face did doodle,
Made a fresh berry crisp,
Had coolers with a twist,
Never did my hair,
Cuz up north you don’t care,
Read some magazines,
Had vivid sweet dreams,
Watched a movie or two,
& saw a drifting canoe,
Basked in the glory of the moment I was in,
& slathered lots of sunscreen on my fair Loocie skin,
Played Yahtzee & craps,
Had some Peppermint Schnapps,
I became engrossed,
I burnt some toast, but received a full pardon from my wonderful host,
Of course incredible music & incredible discussion,
While the loons on the lake were like distant percussion,
Sometimes to the winds, you must throw them a caution,
& take yourself outta town & do some by-goshin!
Seize the moment is so much more than a simple expression,
& what's more therapeutic than a little decompression?
So, I'm back to the life from which I had a pleasant escape,
& hope my little note finds you all in delightful shape!

Good morning, everyone.

Off to lunch this afternoon, followed by a gem show. Critters are going to hate me for never being home. Actually, that they don't mind, it's the fact I keep coming home smelling like something yummy, but not bringing home doggy/kitty bags. Maybe I should remind them I'm the one in charge (haha, ok, blame my delusions of grandeur on the heat ).

What a beautiful day at the boat!!! We're actually kid-less this week-end which is really unusual for us... (usually we have our 2 kids plus at least one friend for each of them....) I'm not sure if we're going to know what to do by ourselves all week-end.... I'm sure we'll figure something out...

The Steely Dan show was great last night. The music was fantastic and a good crowd out. My wife likes more easy listening music than I do, so I knew she would enjoy this show (moreso than Motley Crue!). The kids had a blast as well, in spite of it being somewhat like elevator music at times.

The lawns were closed for the show. We had the "Big Deck" to ourselves as Q107 gave seat options instead. We decided to take the deck anyway and in spite of some protest from the security guard, but knowing the head of security, we managed to have our private box...much the intrigue of the passersby! (Move on, little people. Move on.)

My sincere apologies to my SC friends for the late notice of the available ticket. I wish people would be a little more considerate and let you know when they can't accept your offer of the tickets so I would have had more time to let one of you join us at the show.

To Furimus, a special apology as my neice didn't let me know she was running late and presumed we left without her. She ended up not going and I would have been able to invite you and your sweetie to the show afterall. I would have loved to have made that available to you two at this special time.
