    wasn't too bad of a drive this morning. there was a layer of white stuff that had fallen in the road before the freezing rain, so there wasn't any black ice. it was raining more that the freezing stuff, so that was good too. somehow, when i got to work, my cell phone dialed the rodents number & woke her up on her day off. OOOOOPPPPPPs. don't understand how that happens when there's a lock on it to open it. needless to say, she wasn't happy that i woke her up.

    Make a homemade de-icing solution.



    This is fairly easy, cheap and transportable so you can store it in your car, office or garage. There are 2 proper formulas that you can make out of supplies that you can easily find in your house. The first involves a 3:1 vinegar to water solution, which can be stored in a bottle to spray over your windshield. The other is a 2:1 rubbing alcohol to water solution, which can also be sprayed over your windshield. Make sure that the water is NEVER hot or even slightly warm, as this could crack your windshield.

    Note: I DON'T recommend the alcohol solution ,     may damage paint.

    I have even convinced people that there was such a thing a Ukrainian Thanksgiving... I used this back in the years when I used to help my mother close up her trailer for the season on Thanksgiving weekend, and turkey cooking didn't fit in well with the schedule...An extra week came in handy, plus the turkeys were on sale...
