It was an adventurous day at PMH. There are renovation plans in the works for Princess Margaret. That main floor is so crazy. It's like being in an airport! I arrived at the blood lab & checked in. They assigned me my number. I was number 1. I've always wanted to be #1. They were calling #37. I had a good hours wait for my turn to be jabbed, but you can pass the time there quite easily. There are some nice people who are going through some dastardly times with cancer. Chatting with others is helpful in many ways.

I like to go to the rooftop garden to get some fresh air, have a view of the city & eat lunch. We always bring food with us when we go down there. Druxy's is great, but expensive. Who would have thought that dealing with a cancer agenda could be so costly? I did have a good day though & I get to do it all over again in a couple of weeks.

Jake's still a little groggy, but looks so sat with that cone.
He ended up with 4 incisions in his mouth, of course one on all 4 sides. Upper 2 have 2 stitches each, 1 lower none, & the other lover just 1. The teeth were so tiny, but the roots were over an inch long & embedded into the adult root, so had to be cut out.

Poor guy. I feel so sorry for him. He's drugged right now, but I am not looking forward to when he's not.
I was going to take a pic, but he looked so pathetic.

I've got to get to bed. Night all.
This is a get well card for Jake & it is a canine version,
Cause going to the Vet’s is certainly no happy excursion,
He’s had his knockers knackered & I sure that it a major ouch,
& all that canine dental work; the poor guy need rest on the couch!
In a few days he’ll feel better & he can set the dial to regular dog stuff,
But, extra love in the meantime cause this recovery is rough!
It’s a good thing Jake has a Momma who cares about his health,
Cause we all know that veterinarians tend to drain our wealth,
Get better soon there Jake with a woof, a grrrr & a growl,
Soon you’ll be yourself again & you can go on squirrel prowl!!

    Post-lunch gross out alert:
Last night in the bar I met a guy with a cyst on his elbow. Or perhaps it was a boil. Or maybe a carbuncle. Whatever, it’s a hell of a thing, don’t you think? The image has seared itself into my retina, and now my dreams are haunted by a never-ending series of ghastly explosions. I’m sorry you have to see this, but I thought if I shared it with a few million unsuspecting friends, the twitch in my right eye might subside. And then maybe - just maybe - I might pick up the piece...s of my shattered life and start living again.
    Warmly,
    Mike
PS. If you’re wondering, yes - the owner asked if I’d like the honor of lancing it. I demurred. You’re welcome.

PPS. If you’re partial to something with less pus in it, there’s a brand new interview with your’s truly over here. It’s pretty good. http://profoundlydisconnected.com/ri...lks-with-mike/

Aporkolypse (in case you're still hungry after that last post)

No No No say it ain’t so!!!!!!

First it was gas and now THIS??? At what point do we as Canadians stop being so polite and put our feet down. A wise man (Dee Snider) once sang “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and so we shouldn’t.
The price of bacon is on the rise. AGAIN. According to StatsCan data released Friday, the price of bacon in Canada jumped by 9.3 per cent in the past month alone, and is up 25.3 per cent over the past year.
    But why?
Because of a pig virus that spread across the U.S. last year and has since spread to Canada. The PED virus affects mostly piglets, but has a near 100-per-cent mortality rate among them. It has wiped out an estimated 7 million piglets in the U.S.

Maple Leaf Foods last month announced a pork price hike, and said the shortage was forcing it to reduce hours at its Manitoba plant.

Aporkalypse, Baconmageddon whatever you want to call it, it’s back.

Clark Little moved to the North Shore of Oahu in the 1970s. His skill as a surfer, combined with his talent at capturing the Waimea Bay shorebreak through a lens, creates breathtaking results. Little’s photographs from inside the swell are as mesmerizing as they are fearless, and reflect the beauty and majesty of the Pacific Ocean.
