I'm ALL FOR international women!!! Any day!
================================================== ========
Q:How often should smoke alarms be replaced?
A.They need to be the replaced no less often than every ten years.
But you should check that the batteries are working AT LEAST once a month.
CO 2 Detectors now MANDATORY in Ontario!!!!
Firefighters say an early Sunday morning incident at a downtown co-op apartment building shows why they support new legislation which makes carbon monoxide alarms mandatory in Ontario.
Crews were called to 140 Mann Ave. by Enbridge Gas shortly after midnight and asked to do carbon monoxide readings after receiving complaints from residents of the four-storey building.
According to Ottawa Fire spokesman Marc Messier, firefighters recorded readings in excess of 35 parts-per-million, which is deemed high but not deadly.
The Technical Standards and Safety Authority was notified due to the high readings.
Generally, people experience no symptoms at all when readings like this exist, until they've been exposed to them for about 12 hours.
Investigation revealed a tenant on the fourth floor had been experiencing problems with her hot water and reported "not feeling well," according to Messier.
"Her hot water tank also supplied her heating system," he said.
"There are rads in the ductwork."
Messier said another tenant on the second floor was experiencing similar problems. He said defects were found with the system.
When further investigation confirmed carbon monoxide readings in multiple units on various floors, firefighters evacuated the building and residents were provided shelter on OC Transpo busses.
Paramedics responded to assess and treat nine patients, four of whom required a trip to the hospital.Last edited by rock lobster; Sat, Mar 8th, 2014 at 11:38 AM.

T'is as sure a sign of spring as you're likely to see bye,
Rocky's BBQing!!!
In Florida the first BBQ of the season is ALWAYS roast gecko.
That's where they like to hide.
My motorcycle is very cross with me for leaving it
out in the cold garage all winter.
I'm sure it growled at me when I started it.
I used to keep it in the spare bedroom but for
some odd reason women don't like motorcycles
in the house. Weird or what?
I sincerely apologize for him being green.
Don't judge him , it's not his fault.
Blame the painter at the factory.Last edited by rock lobster; Sat, Mar 8th, 2014 at 12:35 PM.

In honour of International Women's Day..A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him.
"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And... you never will."
Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked,
"God, why do women cry so easily?"
God said, "When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."
"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart the
place where love resides." I am blessed by the women in my life!

I was watching soccer today and they kept referencing a player named Campbell; this took me to memories of a singer from my youth - Junior Campbell who was once lead singer of Marmalade. I dug out this great solo effort which I haven't heard in forever. Hope you enjoy......http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=nPecH03RzL4 "Hallelujah Freedom" !
