What a beautiful sunshiny day. .

Time to don your psunday best & go out for a stroll,
Take along your ghetto blaster so you can share some rock & roll,
How those listening gadgets have made quite the technological transition,
Cause any place that you happen to be, you’ve got your favourite musician,
Remember transistor radios that only had an AM dial,
Still since it was your very own it was customized to your style,
Some of us had stereos with eight tracks built right in,
& of course we had the turntable ready to give a record a spin,
Remember the little centre piece for that 45 you played so many times?
Or perhaps you listened on a jukebox & kept a pocket full of dimes,
Reel to reel, 8 tracks & cassettes have departed for the most part,
Committed to your memory banks along with the old CHUM chart,
I still prefer to listen the good old fashioned way,
To real speakers filling the room with the songs I like to play,
I have concerns that about iPods blasting in those younger ears,
& I hope they’re not experiencing deafness in their twilight years,
Think about your first listening device & let the memories accrue,
Just a couple of psunday thoughts I felt like sharing with you.

David Brenner, the lanky, toothy-grinned "Tonight Show" favorite whose brand of observational comedy became a staple for other standups, including Jerry Seinfeld and Paul Reiser, died Saturday. He was 78.


Brenner, who had been fighting cancer, died peacefully at his home in New York City with his family at his side, according to Jeff Abraham, his friend and publicist.

A guy with such original & zany flair. I saw him once & remember it was an evening of laughs & enjoyment. Bless him always & forever. He will be missed. xx
