Good afternoon kids.... Dental appt today.. Sadly an elderly gentleman of 91 years was leaving as I was arriving and he backed into my new truck.. I tried to get out of the way only to allow him to hit me further on the other side of my truck (first the back left, then continued accross the back bumper) He had no idea he hit me and was about to drive away.. poor guy.. I'm sure at his age he may loose his licence and sometimes that just destroys them...

That's a drag Chers. Glad no one was hurt.

Just made some pita quesadillas with cilantro hummus, roasted red peppers and spinach leaves. Guess I'll have some quinoa with that.

Thanks Jester, Yes I just told her a while ago she was pretty shocked - didn't even know they were coming - the tickets haven't gone on sale yet - she was pretty happy - I haven't heard their new one but I have a couple of others on my mp3 player. They are one of the newer bands I like. They've done really well for themselves - 2 guys writing all their own stuff.

In advance of Sunday I thought this worthy of a post.............. Your mom carried you in her
womb for nine months. She felt
sick for months with nausea, then...
she watched her feet swell and
her skin stretch and tear. She
struggled to climb stairs. She got
breathless quickly. She suffered
many sleepless nights. She then
went through EXCRUCIATING PAIN
to bring you into this world. She
became your nurse, your chef,
your maid, your chauffeur, your
biggest fan, your teacher, and
your best friend. She's struggled
for you, cried over you, hoped the
best for you, and prayed for you. Most of us take our mom for
granted. But there are people
who have lost or never even seen
theirs.

Well, thats it for me.. I have to go pick up a new rain barrel, pay my Mom's property taxes and over to her house to finally sign the papers to put the "for sale" sign on the lawn..I will cry and cry....LOL..I'm such a suck..see you all tomorrow

I miss my mom too... This November will be 10 years since she passed and as I get older, there is so much more I wish I could share with her.... I treasure the memories and the happy years that we shared while she was with us.....

Loocie is planning to bake a cake to share with my 2 sons,
It’s been 29 years that I proudly joined the ranks that we call Moms,
The passage of time become milestones, our very own family history,
Events carved with vivid recollection; to me there is no mystery,
My #1 son’s early arrival weighing inat less than 4 pounds,
& how I barely slept a wink, listening for baby sounds,
Hard to believe that they are men who grew up tried & true,
We’ve endured some challenging events, but we always came straight thru!
My boys have always inspired me & we’ve had some stellar times,
& the pair of them have been victims of many of Mother’s rhymes,
We often disagree on current events, especially those political,
Heated discussions are therapeutic, as long as they’re not overly critical,
It might be a quick visit we’ll have & I’ll supply the coffee & cake,
It won't be a rowdy time, just us guys sharing a nice little break.

You haven't changed a bit Loocie!!! You still look exactly the same as you did a "few" summers ago!!

Wow, just about to leave the house and heard Kim say the Q to call in for Black Keys tickets. I was the 7th caller so I won them! I'm surprised cause I dialed a few times and it did the ring and hang up thing which usually means they have the winner, I tried once more and he answered! My daughter introduced me to the band's music and I found I liked them quite a bit, they do pretty good for 2 guys and at least they write some blues/rock type stuff not that new crap!!!

Now for that walk!!!

I was waiting around for him to do the contest - glad I did now!

Congrats ecat!! I heard Kim announce your first name and when he said that you told him it was the only band that you and your daughter both enjoy, I figured it had to be you!!

Way to go!!
