Good morning, everyone.
The fundraiser last night was great! They were raising money for a scholarship to Ryerson's theatre program in Colm Wilkinson's name. The students performed with some talents fresh from Broadway, incredible performances from all. And, of course, the guest of honour performed and brought the house down. I would never have imagined a night where Colm Wilkinson would go from Broadway to Muddy Waters to Johnny Cash and back to Broadway to end with his "signature song" (Les Miz - Bring Him Home, which I only learned last night was written for him and added to the play when he was cast).
Brats were ticked I got home late and didn't bring home a doggy/kitty bag (the petit fours and flavoured champagne were too yummy and quickly consumed ).
My Mom is off to the airport to visit her friend of a half century or so. I'll be Tory fish sitting later in the week (have appts to deal with first), my friend will be keeping him company for now. I suspect he'll be happy to have her back next week.
Off to try to find a certain young gentleman's leash - I think Quincy is annoyed at my lack of training and wants me to learn how to fetch.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

The Newfoundland Department of Employment claimed a boat owner wasn't paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent to St. John's to investigate him.
GOV'T AGENT: "I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them."
Boat Owner: "Well, there's Clarence, my hired hand; he's been with me for three years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board. Then there's the mentally challenged guy. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of Lamb's rum and a dozen Labatt Lite every Saturday night so he can cope with life. He also gets to sleep with my wife occasionally."
GOV'T AGENT: "That's the guy I want to talk to - the mentally challenged one."
Boat Owner: "That'll be me. What'd you want to know?"

Subject:Fw: Hypnotist at a Senior Home
It was entertainment night at the senior citizens' center.
After the community sing along led by Alice at the piano, it was time for the star of the show - Claude the Hypnotist!
Claude explained that he was going to put the whole audience into a trance. "Yes, each and every one of you and all at the same time." said Claude.
The excited chatter dropped to silence as Claude carefully withdrew from his waistcoat pocket; a beautiful antique gold pocket watch and chain.
"I want you to keep your eyes on this watch" said Claude, holding the watch high for all to see.
"It is a very special and valuable watch that has been in my family for six generations" said Claude.
He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting:
"Watch the watch --- Watch the watch ----Watch the watch"
The audience became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth.
The lights were twinkling as they were reflected from its gleaming surfaces.
A hundred and fifty pairs of eyes followed the movements of the gently swaying watch.
They were hypnotized.
And then, suddenly, the chain broke!!!
The beautiful watch fell to the stage and burst apart on impact"
"SH_T" said Claude.
It took them three days to clean the Senior Citizens ' Center and Claude was never invited there again.
