Good evening, everyone.

Just thought I'd check in quickly before bedtime (sleepyheads are already asleep...for now ).

The service for J's brother was very different from the Catholic ones I'm used to. Instead of a sombre affair, they played his favourite songs and things were somewhat light-hearted. After the service, everyone went to the local pub where a nice spread was laid out for us to snack on. In addition, those who were avid gardeners in the group were given small rose bushes to take home & plant in memory of the dearly departed. If it were not for the circumstances, it would have been a fun event.

Of course, things always seem to happen all at once. This time, I managed to stay healthy, but poor Lily dog scratched at a small bump on her hip and managed to get a little scratch infected. $100 and a kiss from the vet later, she's on antibiotics and has a big sore on her freshly shaved hip (my big brave girl was not a happy camper when the wound was being cleaned, but instead of whining or grumbling about it, she simply tried to sit down crookedly on the hip to avoid anyone touching her). Good thing I have a credit card devoted to roommate emergencies.

Better go make sure the brats are ok & see if I can't catch up on a few emails.

Good morning, everyone.

Very late start for us (a certain someone was sleeping soundly & I didn't dare get out of bed & wake her up - good thing the short one knew better than to bug her).

Sheesh, we just got up & it will be time to make breakfast soon. Good thing a certain someone hasn't figured out that I'm hiding pills inside bites of cheese. Last time Lily dog had to take meds, I was happily telling everyone how easy it was to give her pills...until I discovered that she was hiding them under her tongue and carefully placing them behind her food dish. Why am I cursed with having the lowest IQ in our home???

I think I'll stay home & try to decide costume choices for the brats. Lily definitely needs a tutu or something to hide her booboo. Quincy could use a muzzle & straight-jacket, but I suspect my neighbours might lynch me if I dress him as Hannibal Lecter.

Poor Lily. I am glad she is well on her way to being better. She is such a clever girl & I heard somewhere that extra treats help boo boo's to heal faster. See if Lily agrees.

Nice way to honour your friend with a fitting send off. A funeral should celebrate someone's life & revel in the happiness they brought to others. Laughter is mandatory.

It's a good idea to put your wishes down in writing & let someone know what your wishes are for your own send off. If I was to have all my favourite songs played it would take hours & hours.

Watched on CP24 I was surprised they transferred to 407, but made sense.
Brock 401 access here in Whitby was blocked because there were so many people!
