Do you know I would love to sit at a table with all my Smart Canuck friends?
I would so enjoy a sociable time & we could chat about odds & ends,
Can you imagine sharing a pizza that is an entire meter long?
That is just over 3 feet & 3 inches unless my calculations are wrong,
In some places this is a growing trend for an intimate soirée,
& you don’t have to leave your seat & fight traffic at the buffet,
Some of the best laughs & conversations take place at the table,
& sometimes legendary discussions play out just like a fable,
We could have one side just for the girls & the other just for the boys,
& everyone gets to pick a song that will blend with the background noise,
I’m kind of partial to a pint of lager or ale if you would rather,
& we don’t really need a specific reason for all of us to gather,
Although many of us here have never been formally introduced,
I can’t think of nicer people to chill with & have a little roost.



Maybe we're due for another lunch-get-together.

Received word tonight that my brother has been diagnosed with lymphoma (cancer of the blood) & they were moving him to the cancer ward of the hospital. We've only been told that they will start chemo on his throat to hopefully shrink the tumour. the experimental treatment did not work & they had to put the trachea back in to help him breathe, but even with trachea in, the tumour is so big, he's still having problems breathing. Surgery is out of the question given where the tumour is & the size. We will hopefully hear more by the beginning of the week.

That is very sad news about your brother. I hope there is another way to help him on a road to recovery. In the meantime, stay strong and it is nice to know that you are there for him during this crisis.

Funny how most of us didn't go to our proms when we were young. I wish my high school would put on some sort of reunion. It would be interesting to see how some of my friends turned out. I know I have looked for some of them on Facebook, but we are of that generation where some of us use it, and some of us don't.
