Christopher Hyndman, co-host of the afternoon talk show Steven and Chris on CBC-TV, has died.


The body of Christopher Hyndman, co-host of the afternoon talk show Steven and Chris on CBC-TV, was found in an alleyway in Toronto's east end, police confirm.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died," said the public broadcaster in a memo distributed to staff Tuesday afternoon.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to Steven, family, friends and colleagues; our thoughts are with them all."
Toronto police told CBC News on Tuesday that Hyndman was found without vital signs in an alleyway near the intersection of Queen Street and Broadview Avenue in Toronto shortly after 11 p.m. ET Monday.
Det. Terry Wray said police are not appealing for witnesses, though it remains a "completely open investigation." He added that police would not comment further until completing interviews.
Hyndman started the design company The Sabados Group with Steven Sabados, his off-screen partner and television co-host, in 1992. The pair went on to notable success with several programs, including the HGTV shows Chic with Steven and Chris, Design Rivals and Designer Guys.
Hyndman often played the joker, while the more straitlaced Sabados played up his calm and pragmatic demeanour.
Chuck Thompson, head of public affairs at CBC English Services, said the show has been pulled from the schedule.

Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Aaron Sanchez has been suspended for three games for throwing at Kansas City Royals infielder Alcides Escobar in the eighth inning of the team's 5-2 win on Sunday.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons also received a one-game suspension on Tuesday for returning to the field in Sanchez's defence after already having been ejected.
Sanchez was ejected after hitting Escobar in the knee after both sides were issued a warning in the first inning, once Kansas City starter Edinson Volquez hit Josh Donaldson high with a pitch.
However, Royals reliever Ryan Madson wasn't tossed by home-plate umpire Jim Wolf for hitting Tulowitzki in the seventh, which infuriated the Blue Jays. When Donaldson got buzzed by a pitch in the next at-bat, he got in Wolf's face.
Jose Bautista and Gibbons ushered Donaldson away, and Gibbons was tossed for the third time this season. In the next inning, Sanchez hit Escobar.
Sanchez defended himself after the game, arguing his pitch just got away.
"If I wanted to send a message I would've sent a message to their big guys," he said. "I think it was kind of crap, but we'll move on. We got a 'W.'"
Sanchez can appeal the ruling, while Gibbons will serve his suspension Tuesday night against the Minnesota Twins.
