Sorry for being scarce lately. Sometimes real life gets in the way.

At least our internet issues at work have been fixed. Bell put in a new line on our street and I haven't experience any ups and downs since then.

September will be a good month to see planets in the morning. October will be even better!

Before sunrise looking east, you will see Mars, Jupiter and Venus in the sky. You might even make out Mercury, but it is low in the sky and already descending day to day.

In Mid-October mornings before sunrise, Mars, Jupiter and Venus will be lined up in the east and their positions will change day to day. Their positions will be even closer to each other than they would be in September.

On another note, on the evening of September 27th, there will be a total lunar eclipse, where Earth's shadow will block out the moon, or make it turn red. Totality starte at around 10:10 pm and lasts for over an hour. To add a little flair to this event, the moon will also be it's closest to Earth this year. The media calls it a "Supermoon". Also, since this full moon is closest to the autumnal equinox, it is considered a "Harvest Moon" (not to be confused with a Neil Young song). This eclipse will be the last we see in Canada until 2018.
