Today marks 27 years of commemorating World AIDS Day, and in that time HIV has gone from a "death sentence" to a manageable and treatable chronic illness. Though this shows significant progress, health care leaders called for continued support as 35 million people remain infected worldwide and many still do not have access to treatment.

so many people are still dying with aids, wishing reagan etc had cared way back when.
extra paraphrasing sort of - 'just homosexual man, drug users, hemophiliacs'
are the ones being infected so 'we' are ok - silly dingbats.

a friend i lost contact with, kevin had had his whole family disown him,
8 sisters and brothers, parents - can one imagine? and before the aids
he did love my mom a lot though,, sighing,
years after we lost sight of each other, was reading one of the 'gay' mags
and saw a terrific photo of kevin in a tex, geee he looked great,
photo was posted in the 'lives lost' section - broke my heart.

Bless her - its so true people get older with the less they do.
This gal is a great example of someone who embraces and enjoys life - good for her (love her chortle)

Good afternoon, everyone.

Seems like November just rushed past in a flash. That's what I get for having too much fun. I finally had a quiet day yesterday, so of course the computer went wonky. Think my jealous boyfriend tampered with it, he's been feeling neglected lately (talk about clingy, sheesh). He was decidedly not impressed, tho, when I went off to the Xmas Market & came home with a red foam nose-ball-thingy and tried to convince him to wear it. Lily dog was obliging enough, but her nose is a wee bit too big, and Quincy cat, well, he has barely any nose at all by comparison.

In keeping with not having any rest for the wicked (& spending as much time as possible having fun), I'm off in a little while to meet some friends (good food, great conversation, amazing company). Wonder if the jealous boyfriend will howl at me when I get home?

Hello to everyone who is here. How the heck ye be? It is a dreary day indeed. I am very happy to say that I was able to get myself a new wig from the Princess Margaret Wig Salon. It is not a great time of year to be forking over money for something personal, but I just had to do it.
Now I can have the dignity & humility of having hair. I don't mind wearing the scarves, but sometimes I don't feel quite like me when I am wearing one. A Lady in Shopper's Drug Mart who was in line behind me, was telling her daughter "oh look there's a lady who has lost all her hair, isn't that a shame". I had to ignore & not acknowledge her. Otherwise I would have been a weeping & crying mess. (Let it go when I got home) A bit of a humbling encounter.
