Rumors of the musician’s alleged demise gained traction on Saturday after a ‘R.I.P. Glenn Frey’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the American musician’s passing:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (January 16, 2016), our beloved musician Glenn Frey passed away. Glenn Frey was born on November 6, 1948 in Detroit. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 67-year-old musician was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.
Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major American network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of a musician of Glenn Frey's stature would be major news across networks.
A recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (79%) of respondents think those Glenn Frey death rumors are not funny anymore.
Glenn Frey Death Hoax Dismissed Since Musician Is ‘Alive And Well’
On Sunday (January 17) the musician's reps officially confirmed that Glenn Frey is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.
Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved musician. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

Glenn Frey Eagles Guitarist Dead At 67

Glenn Frey, a founding member and guitarist of the Eagles, has died ... TMZ has learned.
We're told the cause of death was a combination of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia.
Frey had been battling intestinal issues for months and had surgery in November. We're told in the last few days his condition took a turn for the worse. He died in New York City.
Glenn co-wrote and sang most of the Eagles hits, including "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," "Lyin' Eyes," and "Heartache Tonight," to name a few. He also co-wrote "Hotel California" and "Desperado" with Don Henley and took home 6 Grammys with the band.
After the Eagles' 1980 breakup, Glenn launched a successful solo career, recording numerous hits ... most notably "The Heat Is On" and "You Belong to the City."
Glenn also got into acting, snagging a recurring role on "Miami Vice."
He reunited with the Eagles in '94 for their monster Hell Freezes Over tour and recorded music till the end, releasing what would be his fifth and final solo LP, "After Hours," in 2012.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had been fighting intestinal issues for awhile but his condition relapsed before the holidays, forcing the Eagles to pull out of their Kennedy Center Honors appearance in December. At the time, the band said he needed major surgery that would require a lengthy recovery.
Glenn was 67. RIP.

bff's Dad passed away just after midnight. bff, her Mom & siblings and all but one of her nieces and nephews (he was away at a funeral for a friend of his ) were there at the end. They are all being very supportive to each other, especially the kids. I'm going home to my Mom (she lives near bff's Mom), so I can be close by if needed. Not sure when exactly I'm leaving (tomorrow or Wed) or coming home, so will be awol for a bit.

Today is my 13th anniversary of receiving a kidney & a pancreas, but I'm not much in the mood to celebrate. Maybe once I see bff & I know she's ok, my mood will lighten.
