Good Morning Kids.... Gotta go grocery shopping as it seems we have nothing to eat in this house!

The pantry is empty not even a crumb,
We have no fruit, not even a plum!
No cereal, no crackers, no bread & no cheese,
Not even an orange, that one could squeeze,
No eggs to crack to make an omelette souffle,
It's looking sad here in Loocie's Cafe,
I should have gone shopping yesterday morning,
But, lollygagging overtook me; & it came without warning,
So now I have a long list to compile,
& I will be strolling down each grocery aisle,
I was content with a coffee & a muffin,
But I have needy boys here & their faces need stuffin',
Now to plan a menu for this upcoming week,
& does anyone here really care for bubble & squeak?

Lily dog is in absolute misery - lots of rain, but no thunder & lightning to make it worthwhile. Poor girl has gone back to bed - heaven forbid she should go outside & get her feet wet.

Good morning Q folks. Happy Psunday!

Andy Serkis is a genius. Anyone who can translate Gollum's paranoid schizophrenia and Kong's empathy through motion capture is nothing less. Ceasar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes takes Serkis' art to a new level, technically and artistically. The apes are apes, not actors in ill-fitting masks. Ceasar's personality and full range of emotion are completely believable.

The movie is good sci-fi. I've been a fan of the series since reading Pierre Boule's Monkey Planet as a kid and seeing all five of the original movies in the theatre, but none of them were anywhere close to good sci-fi, even for their time. This movie has a plausible premise to the extent that there is very little need to suspend disbelief.

Good supporting characters, especially John Lithgow and Freida Pinto (I could look at her all day), help move the story along. One uneven performance due to poor casting was obvious but did little damage. I counted two allusions to the original, one blatant and one subtle, both worth a chuckle.

The sequel is firmly set up, and now that I think of it there is a third very subtle throw to the original film that helps put the pieces in place. We can expect the next edition to have a more familiar story line.

Thanks PSELLS for the review. I haven't seen the new movie yet. But I'm a huge fan of the original movies which were done in a time without CGI. And no one can touch the performances of Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowell as Astronaut Taylor and Cornelius/Caesar. Classic Sci-Fi.
