Good morning, everyone.

The fun part of living with a flirt (Lily dog) is that people love to stop & chat. Which is always a good excuse to avoid housework.
We ran into the Hollywood leading man, aka my new neighbour. As my friend keeps saying "he's famous - why is he living in your building???"
Off to drag myself to do some housework. Blech. Might have to break out the last of my brandy-filled chocolates to use as encouragement.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Zap! Condom a thing of the past!
The days of condoms and vasectomies could be contraceptives of the past after new findings reveal the sperm-zapping powers of an ultrasound machine.
Researchers successfully made rats infertile for more than two months using therapeutic ultrasound, equipment typically used by physical therapists to apply heat and increase circulation to injured joints.
"Sperm production is very robust; this ensures the survival of a species. It's really difficult to find a way to turn off the production of sperm, but ultrasound seems to do the trick" said head researcher Dr. James Tsuruta from the University of N.C.
The machine was found to work best when used on the testes of the rats in two 15 minute treatments a day apart, according to the study published Monday in the journal Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology.
Although this research is new, the idea is ot. For 35 years, researchers have tested the theory of using heated ultrasound to shut down sperm but it was difficult to determine a process that worked.
The same technology was used to sterilize stray dogs in Italy, according to a paper published in 2009 by the University of Bari. Researchers have also tested it on monkeys.
what do you think of that guys?

Good morning Q'Sters, and welcome to February. Spring is just around the corner!
I'm so excited, I got a call back on a job that I was applying for. Keep your fingers crossed! Could February be my lucky month?

Good Afterenoon!!
Thanks for all your kind wishes for our new little addition. I had an interview yesterday afternoon and for a split second, I actually thought of calling it off because I was having such a good time with Oggie. Then the reality of commerce (or rather, lack thereof) kicked in.
My goal with Oggie is to do some structured obedience training (sit, down, stay type training) but to concentrate on socialization excercies as they present themselves - a just-in-time training approach. I'm going to have to watch myself as he is a very quick study. This morning he was chewing on a rawhide which I thought was a perfect opportunity to get him used to giving things back. I asked him to give it to me. He stopped chewing, but wasn't about to let it go. So, I put my hand on the side of the rawhide not in his mouth and told him to LEAVE IT. If I have to repeat something three times I gentley nudge the dog to show what I mean by the command; however, only got to two with my hand on rawhide when he opened his mouth and gave it up. He was immediately rewarded him with a dessicated duck treat (not my favourite - but apprently it's his). Tail wags and kisses all round. Then I gave the rawhide back to him. He chewed it for about 2 seconds, spit it out at my feet and then sat up waiting for another duck treat!!Courage is not the absence of fear but acting in spite of it.
