    Best April Fools prank ever....

A group of Aquinas College students banded together to pull off possibly the greatest April Fools’ Day prank ever.
Dr. Stephen Barrows is an associate professor of economics in his second semester at Aquinas College. The prank was inspired by Barrows’ seemingly harsh cell phone policy.
The video starts with a message:
“Our professor has a policy that if your phone rings in class, you must answer it on speakerphone.”
So the students started brainstorming a way to prank the professor.
“At first we started thinking of just really ridiculous ideas, but then we remembered the cell phone policy: ‘If your cell phone rang in class, you had to answer it on speakerphone,” Bailey Terebinski, a Aquinas College senior, told FOX17.
As shown in the video, Taylor Nefcy answers her phone on speakerphone – and the look on Dr. Barrows face is priceless.
“Hi, this is Kevin from the Pregnancy Resource Center. Per your request, I’m calling to inform you that the test results have come back positive. Congratulations!” the caller says.
Dr. Barrows told FOX17 the first thing he thought was, “Why isn’t she taking this off speakerphone?” Then, he said he knew he had to publicly apologize.
“No woman should have to publicly reveal her pregnancy unless she’s doing it purposefully. So I just thought, ‘Oh, I am so sorry that this happened to her this way,’” said Dr. Barrows.
Dr. Barrows said he has changed his cell phone policy to have students immediately shut their phones off if it rings.
“Professor Barrows is a good guy and he probably wasn’t going to force her to put it on speakerphone if we didn’t kind of egg her on. So we said, ‘Answer it, answer it!’ and you can hear that in the beginning of the video,” said Aquinas College junior Josh Weiland.
The Professor congratulated his students saying this was a job that was “well, well done.”

    Eye, er, I'm baaack!!!!

After 10 days of either staring at the ground or lying on my right side (you'd be surprised how sore one's ear can get from lying in one position!), I'm free to get back to normal (well, mostly ).

Brats are NOT impressed we had to leave the land of treats for dietville, but they are happy to get back downtown where there's non-stop action outside the window and lots to see. Quincy has already done 3 inspections to make sure no intruders had invaded *his* space.

The surgery went, ahem, well. The nurse had fun using a sharpie to scribble all over (apparently patients are cheaper than scrap paper ). Took nearly a week to get all the funny little doodles off my body. The day of the surgery, I had a nice young resident who was shadowing the anaesthesiologist and suggested that he practice putting the IV in me, since I'm a difficult patient (well, my veins are, I like to think I'm easy-going ). Poor thing just couldn't get the IV to work...neither could the senior Dr (nevermind the nurse). After quite a few tries, she succeeded. The nurse came back after going to get some more drops and stopped dead, apparently I was the first patient in a looong time who had an IV sticking out of her foot.

The next day when I went to see the surgeon, the conversation went as follows:
Dr K: So, as you know, the surgery went well, although it was a lot more complicated than we expected.
me: Did you laugh when you saw me wheeled in with an IV in my foot?
Dr K (in a quiet serious voice): That should have been my first clue.

Better go see what exciting things I missed while I was staring at the ground.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
