Good Afternoon, dragging butt big time today. Took three hours to remove the trim around the top of the house on Saturday. And yesterday my son, wife and I spent seven hours working on the roof. The worst was the wood trim pieces along the front. They have to be raised to accommodate the thicker sloped foam. You have to lean over the edge on your knees and remove shingles by what must be ten nails per foot of shingle as it layer on layer. I have no knees or back today. I think we managed to get a ¼ of the first roof done.
LEE – really did enjoy Shinedown’s cover of Simple Man
Hick I hope you and Jake are doing much better
Spartacus – Happy Birthday!!!
Wolfie – I hope the new job is going well!

The picture with the pink insulation is the old material. I was worried about the plywood under the old insulation but so far it is in really good shape. So glad we covered it in tar 25 years ago before installing the last roof. The new material is the white cover board and under that is the sloped foam and reflective foam. And the last picture is pulling back the old rubber, the new rubber will go over the entire roof once all the foam is replaced. But when I went to pull the old rubber back it was too short. It had pulled tight in 25 years of shrinkage and I never though of that, so of course your exhausted and now you have to work another 1-1/2 hours to add a section to the edge so it does not leak.

Dealing with a weird situation & not sure how to react. I just found out some friends of mine betrayed me" They did things I would not have expected them to do. These are folks I see & chat with regularly & I'm not so much angry as disappointed that they acted as they did. Long convoluted story short, they are friends with an individual I do not like (I don't do well with folks who are obvious manipulators and use people). There are very few people I cannot get along with, this is one of them (I never bash this person, just chalk it up to personality clashes, but there is a lot more to it than that). At this point, I'm going to just go along with things as if I never found out about this, but I will certainly have to re-examine just how much I confide in them. The one friend really disappointed me, I went through a year of helping this individual with things that would have cost her over $1K, but she didn't have to pay a dime because of what I did (sometimes causing me a lot of bother).
At this point, I'm not going to cut anyone out of my life (we're all part of a larger group that gets together, so it's not feasible). I just won't go out of my way to help these folks. Which really makes me sad.

I'm sorry about your finding out your friends betrayed you andi, it really hurts to find out someone or some people are not what they seemed to be.......especially after going out of your way for them.....well now you should cut back on that sort of thing and seeing them as much.....unfortunately there isn't much you can do but at least now you know the truth about them...

A child said, What is the grass?
Walt Whitman, 1819 - 1892
A child said, What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands; How could I answer the child?. . . .I do not know what it is any more than he.
I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven.
Or I guess it is the handkerchief of the Lord,A scented gift and remembrancer designedly dropped.
Bearing the owner’s name someway in the corners, that we may see and remark, and say Whose?
Or I guess the grass is itself a child. . . .the produced babe of the vegetation.Or I guess it is a uniform hieroglyphic,And it means,
Sprouting alike in broad zones and narrow zones,Growing among black folks as among white,Kanuck, Tuckahoe, Congressman, Cuff,
I give them the same, I receive them the same. And now it seems to me the beautiful uncut hair of graves.
Tenderly will I use you curling grass,It may be you transpire from the breasts of young men.
It may be if I had known them I would have loved them;It may be you are from old people and from women, and from offspring taken soon out of their mother’s laps,And here you are the mother’s laps.
This grass is very dark to be from the white heads of old mothers,
Darker than the colorless beards of old men.
Dark to come from under the faint red roofs of mouths.O I perceive after all so many uttering tongues!
And I perceive they do not come from the roofs of mouths for nothing.
I wish I could translate the hints about the dead young men and women,
And the hints about old men and mothers, and the offspring taken soon out of their laps.
What do you think has become of the young and old men?
What do you think has become of the women and children?
