Good morning, everyone.

Just thought I'd stop by & say hi before going MIA. Still questioning the wisdom of going to Georgian Bay when the temp is anywhere below 30C, but hoping to take some photos on the trip up there (not sure if I'll be allowed use of a camera during the festivities, some prominent folks might not want their adventures documented - thinking specifically of the resident kitty who's been known to steal lipstick, eye liner, cigars..... ).

Should be back some time on Monday, maybe even Tuesday (going to spend some time with my Mom who's babysitting the critters).

The Birthday wishes mean a lot to a feisty gal like me,
I am so lucky to have special friends with such positive energy,
I know we all have birthdays & candles to commemorate the years,
Birthdays keep on accruing & you can never find yourself in arrears,
The last year has dealt me roadblocks, but those detours are traversable,
You know that finding ways to go around them, are worth every syllable,
So as I ponder my 56 candles, I'll look forward to la vida loca living.
Sometimes, I'll be doing the taking & sometimes I'll be doing the giving.

Heartgirl – they were assembling the poppies when we were there in August it was quite the sight! Was going to post pictures but never got around to it.

A young Scottish lad and lass were sitting on a low stone wall, holding hands, gazing out over the loch.

For several minutes they sat silently. Then finally the girl looked at the boy and said, "A penny for your thoughts, Angus."

"Well, uh, I was thinkin'... perhaps it's aboot time for a wee kiss."

The girl blushed, then leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek.

Then he blushed. The two turned once again to gaze out over the loch.

Minutes passed and the girl spoke again. "Another penny for your thoughts, Angus?"

"Well, uh, I was thinkin' perhaps it's noo aboot time for a wee cuddle."

The girl blushed, then leaned over and cuddled him for a few seconds.

Then he blushed, and the two turned once again to gaze out over the loch. After a while, she again said, "Another penny for your thoughts, Angus."

"Well, uh, I was thinkin' perhaps it's aboot time you let me put my hand on your leg."

The girl blushed, then took his hand and put it on her knee. Then he blushed.

Then the two turned once again to gaze out over the loch before the girl spoke again. "Another penny for your thoughts, Angus."

The young man glanced down with a furrowed brow. "Well, noo," he said, "my thoughts are a wee bit more serious this time."

"Really?" said the lass in a whisper, filled with anticipation.

"Aye," said the lad, nodding.

The girl looked away in shyness, began to blush, and bit her lip in anticipation of the ultimate request.

Then he said, "Dae ye no' think it's aboot time ye paid me the first three pennies?"
