Fun game today / exciting.

Good afternoon, everyone.

Just got back home a little while ago. Had a nice vacation with my Mom (poor thing is exhausted from taking care of us). Turns out that it wasn't a bug, it was food poisoning. I think I narrowed down the culprit (special event my friend & I went to last Saturday - we both went downhill around 3pm on Monday, luckily she has an immune system that helped her fight off the nasty). My first almost full meal was Friday night (when I finally got my tastebuds back and things tasted like something other than cardboard), yesterday I spent most of the day outside in another friend's backyard just getting fresh air (& a homemade BBQ'd burger, yumm). Still sticking to very plain foods, but trying to get back to the real world. We'll see how things go this week (I have friends & neighbours on alert to check on me, good thing I'm so very lucky that folks like me ).

Better go check on the brats - they're too quiet. I suspect that they're sulking that they are not getting stuffed with treats (they were happy with the car ride, but then when the chauffeur left, they both started sulking).

Had a Great time at the game today. Just a little warm but we survived. Blue Jays fever has started. The season ticket holder that sits in front of us on the 500 level, sold both his Saturday and Sunday tickets for $400.

Tell your boss there's feline-ally evidence that suggests watching cat videos has a paws-itive effect on your health and productivity.

In a survey of nearly 7,000 cat clip enthusiasts, a study out of the Indiana University at Bloomington, home of Internet cat Lil Bub, found episodes of kitty high jinks gave viewers an energy kick while replacing negative emotions with positive ones.

"Some people may think watching online cat videos isn't a serious enough topic for academic research," said study lead Jessica Gall Myrick. "But the fact is that it's one of the most popular uses of the Internet today."

"If we want to better understand the effects the Internet may have on us…then researchers can't ignore Internet cats anymore."

Myrick wasn't kidding. More than two million cat videos were posted to YouTube in 2014 alone, racking up more than 26 billion views -— the highest per-video viewership of any CATegory on the site.

Participants told researchers that watching cat videos left them feeling more energetic, sending sour feelings like anxiety and sadness scattering like startled birds.

Subjects also said the videos' heartening effects outweighed any guilt associated with procrastinating, leading Myrick to wonder if celebrity cats can have the same impact as pet therapy.

"Even if they are watching cat videos on YouTube while they should be working, the emotional payoff may actually help people take on tough tasks afterward."

Of the participants in the study, 36 per cent described themselves as a "cat person," while about 60 per cent said they dig both dogs and cats.

Unsurprisingly, the cat folks were more likely to watch the objects of their affection frolic on computer screens.

However, Myrick says her survey suggests we could all benefit from the "low-cost pet therapy" of cat videos.

No, No RL - I think you are missing something - Cats are cute, cuddly, friendly, furry, funny, loving, beautiful little balls of fur. Maybe you need to watch a few kitty videos to make you feel good and calm down a little.
