Just received some real good news. The people that had put an offer in on the house, had the home inspection done on her yesterday & it has passed. The only thing left is for them to sell their house. If all goes well, i'll be moving Nov 10th or possibly sooner. There was some talk about moving up the closing date to mid Oct, but we'll see once their house sells. Guess I better start looking for a place to live now that things seem to be moving forward.

Sorry to hear about rodent's foot - a real cinder-ella story. Bet she was hopping mad; but happy it wasn't broken.

Happy to see that someone feels it will be worth the drive to Acton and fingers crossed that all goes through as planned.

A certain boy is sulking cause he wanted Lily dog's spot in the sun and she wouldn't give in to his demands.

So, it looks like the decision has been made for me. I bit the bullet and left a message for the person needing a home for the dog and...silence. I'm really hoping that it's just too much for them to think about and the dog already has a home. We'll see. I've already been trying to plan for worst case scenarios had I taken in the dog (Quincy cat tries to kill the dog & vice versa, dog barks constantly, dog is pushy, dog is anxious/fearful, dog hates Lily dog & vice versa). When it comes to critters in need (especially dogs), I can't say no. Sigh. And houseguests are no longer temporary once they stay longer than a day.

Lily dog is back to her normal self (95%, like me, we both still get tired faster than before ). This morning, she stood her ground when Quincy cat tried to move her off the sunny spot on the bench (this is her I'm-so-happy-to-see-sun-I-don't-care-if-I'm-hot smile).



Going to be adventurous today & make something other than a plain sandwich (no butter/mustard/mayo/etc) for myself. I'm really getting sick of toast & crackers (I swear food poisoning would be a good way to make someone confess ).

Had a good time at the CNE yesterday. Spent some time in the Direct Energy Center where the shopping deals are, got a couple pieces of pretty nice jewellery that were reduced to $5 each. My daughter bought a couple of rings and one for me which she is putting away for me for Christmas.

Went to see America - wow place was packed, hard to get a seat. Asked one guy at the end of an isle if we could sit in the space beside him but he said it was taken, another guy on the other side of him moved over and made space for us and guess what there really was no one sitting beside the other guy all night he just wanted extra space for himself Anyways, they played all their hits of course and some new stuff and even a few other songs like California Dreaming. They did "Horse with no name", "Ventura Highway", "Sister Golden Hair", "Tin Man", "I Need You" etc.

That was the first visit to the CNE with about 5 more to come!

Meet Bug!
Bug came into the shelter in mid-July. He was found outside of our doors at 11pm in bags. He was in really rough shape, but fortunately still living. Bug was panting, hot to the touch, covered in fleas and not moving.
Right away our medical team took action! He was hooked up to an IV & oxygen and staff started to cool him down. Medical staff stayed extra late this night to save him.
... Eventually Bug came around, but had damage to multiple organs caused by heat stroke and lack of oxygen. This damage could have been permanent, but luckily for Bug, after a couple weeks in foster, his diagnostics indicated he was healed!
This little cutie went home last Friday with one of the loving staff members who found him and worked so hard to keep him alive!
