It looks like another overcast day so far. I am wondering about the Leafs. They seemed to be stumbling around last night....it's not looking good for them.
Going to do a little bit of cooking & get ready for my week as I am back into my hospital-drug routine. You would think I would be used to this, but I always sort of dread it.
Have a happy psunday.

good morning
i post a ton of hours after the fact:
was so sad to see the jays not going to the world series, they tried so much, darn,
with such terrific plays, pitching, and that catcher, never seem to hear much about him.
a guy couching, doing those hand singles, and jumping up, etc..
does make me wish i paid more attention when my brothers would go to the games
for free with my dad who played the organ in the first years - seemed to be a guy
thing.
so moving on - 'go leafs go' - oh never mind,,,,
sass and jeff healey,- always found it amazing how he could play, play is not the right word,
a guitar like he could. miss hearing him performing and hosting, jeff had a ton of 78's.
damn cancer,,,

I found this recipe on FB last week and made it yesterday. It turned out really good!!
@ecat444 You may like this too!!
The soup is packed with nutritional powerhouses such as sweet potato, spinach, garlic, carrots, and tomatoes, this soup truly flushes the fat away by restoring acid-alkaline and sodium-potassium balance to the body’s organs and glands. It is a warming and deliciously comforting treat that has the added bonus of detoxing your body and adding much needed nutrients.
The superfoods in this soup are packed with antioxidants and fiber and aid with flushing toxins and, subsequently, fat from the body.
Ingredients
1 medium sweet potato, peeled and cut into 1" cubes
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 stalk celery, diced
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
Pinch of Kosher or sea salt, more or less to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon paprika
1 bay leaf
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed (optional, navy beans)
4 cups vegetable broth, low-sodium
1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes (no salt added), *this is an optional ingredient
4 cups baby spinach, loosely packed
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil, optional, for serving (1/2 teaspoon per serving)
Directions
Add all ingredients, except spinach and olive oil, to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours, or until the vegetables are tender. Add spinach, stir and continue cooking just until wilted, approximately 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
Tip: If you prefer a thicker soup, after 5 hours of cooking, simply remove 1 cup of soup, along with ingredients, mash ingredients with a fork, return to the slow cooker, stir and continue cooking 1 to 3 hours. When serving, drizzle a little (optional) olive oil over each bowl of soup.

Good afternoon, everyone.
As usual, I've been burning the candle at both ends. One of these days, I'll have to remember before the fact that I'm no longer in my 20s and have energy to spare. The not-so-fun part of the activities involved a weak attempt at re-organizing my storage locker to find Halloween decorations. The much more entertaining part was going with friends to see the Magna Carta (it's at the new visitors centre at Fort York). Very interesting display. Too bad so few people know about it (it's only in Toronto a short time). Got very very lucky and the nice folks at the admission desk offered us a couple of spare tickets (the group that went in not long before us over-estimated their numbers and handed in their extra tix).
Gotta love living in a big city that has a fort downtown.
There's still construction around the Visitors Centre, so it was hard to get a proper shot.
In addition, I got an early Xmas present - a breadmaker - so I've been trying to figure out how it works. My first attempt was a failure (didn't rise, issues with old yeast ), so will have to give it another shot once I have some decent ingredients. On the plus side, my 4-legged garbage disposal seemed pleased with the results, so the dense brick of a bread is going to be a certain someone's treat for the next little while.
Better go explore SC and see what I've been missing out on.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Think you have the brains? Well how smart you are could win you cash!
Each week day at 4:40pm on The Mo Show we want you to play The Grand IQ Test.
They’ll take a caller at 416-870-ROCK (7625) or 416-870-ROLL (7655) who will instantly get $50. Now you can take a question to instantly double your cash to $100 but only if you answer it correctly. You could win up to $1,000 but each question will get harder as you go along. Here’s the catch, if you get the question wrong you walk away with nothing.
The Grand IQ Test from Toronto’s Rock, Q107
