Thread: Bell Satellite Un-Brag / Rant

I signed up for Bell satellite March 6th. I was supposed to receive a $50 programming credit, and free premium movies for 2 months. Additionnally, I thought I sighned up for a 50-60 a month plan (Standard plus 6 themes).
My contract for employment ended early on March 31, I moved on April 10th, and I forgot to call Bell to cancel. Today I received a call from collections looking for $270. I immediately tried calling to cancel services (no dish on the house I've lived in for the last month), and they need a month's notice to cancel. Basically, for the one month of satellite I received, it is costing me $100 for the receiver plus $270 = $370 FOR ONE MONTH'S SATELLITE SERVICE!!! Making matters worse, I have been on the phone with them for 35 minutes on my cell phone trying to get services cancelled. I'm still on hold right now!

I'll update later and let you know how this turns out.
Update: I have no clue how much I am actually going to be billed now, but the CSR said that she was adding the $50 programming credit and removing the movie channel prices...I'll believe it when I see it. No flexibility on the 30 day notice - I should have demanded that they send someone out to hook up a dish here for the one month that I still have to pay for. We all know there's usually a three week wait for installations and it would be interesting to see them justify charging me for services they can't provide. Also, I'm interested to see if she actually knocked the package down to the most basic like requested. I guess the positive in all of this is that the cell phone that I was on was NOT a bell phone.Last edited by CouponCacher; Sat, May 8th, 2010 at 10:09 AM.
I have saved over $1320 with coupons since Dec 30/10! (+ at least another 700 in sales!)

Call and yell if you have to. DH had a problem a while back and blew his stack at them. He got everyones name he spoke to as well. He ended up having all his cell phone charges dropped, but he really let them have it!

Good luck. I am just waiting for my contract with Bell to be up & I'm gone. So many problems and way too much time on the phone trying to straighten it up.
