Thanks for the advice! I have a lot to learn but I can say that my coupons are growing. The one thing that I have learned is don't print coupons you won't use as it becomes very costly on ink lol (ask me I know). Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for the info! i'm new too, this is such a great site!
i have a question but i didn't want to start a new thread for it because it's probly a silly question but if you have a coupon for a product that's already on sale will the retailer accept it? like if the coupon says "not valid with other offers" does that mean you can't use the coupon on sale items?

You most certainly CAN use it on sale items! That's the best time to use it...when you pay the least amount & maximize your savings. In fact I budget our grocery menu & all of my shopping around the fliers & the sales.
IE... colgate toothpaste is on sale at lawton's this week for $1.59, add in my $1 off coupon. I know pay .59 for the big tubes. Or at Walmart the quantum finish dishwasher thingy's are on sale from 10.99 down to 6.00.. with my $6.00 off printable coupon, that is now free (some places will charge you tax tho)
Iprinted off 10 of these coupons this aft so that we won't be buying dishwasher soap for a cpl of months, since we go thru one of those a week easily in my large family.

"not valid with other offers" is apparently open to the interpretation of the store, sometimes the cashier. I certainly have never had a problem using a coupon on a sale item, but if the store sale is B1G1, they might not take coupons.
Great thread. Usually I carry my binder, but needed an item from a coupon-shy store. So I dressed up, put the coupon in my purse, and had no problem using it. Maybe it didn't matter, but most of us profile cashiers so we should not be suprised if cashiers profile couponers.

This is all very good advise and has been stated many times on these forums, however, when in comes to reality, that is not always the way it works. You can go to 3 different WM's as many of us can attest to, and they all have a different way of using PM and coupons. It doesn't matter that you have their policy, if they say no the answer is no. Carring store policies that you frequent is always the best policy, but it certainly does not assure that the manager, or supervisor on duty will follow that (as much as we want them too). I am really happy that you love couponing, as most of us do,and yes, you will get more addicted to it. I have been couponing for over 20 years. I am glad you found SC and welcome to the club!

great post! I am a cashier manager at no frills and you need an override after $10 worth of coupons.... whenever i get customers who use a lot of coupons they sometime apologize to me and try to explain that they are saving money and its worth it... i just smile and say oh dont u worry!! i have a massive binder upstairs full of coupons
the customers always seem so shocked because im 20.. and they dont see a lot of 20 year olds doing big coupon trips :p
