How to iron clothes without an ironer?

I broke my ironer a while back, and haven't replaced it. Now that I'm opening up my "Fall" clothes storage bins - some of the clothes are wrinkly...

I need to iron them but don't want to invest in an ironer and can't find the iron board as well

Would it work to put them in the washer and dryer??

Any home tips for me? thanks

You can try using the dryer. I bought a steamer for around $9 from XS Cargo awhile back. Works for me

If you hang them and mist them with water and smooth them out with your hand they will flatten. The dryer for a few minute on high heat will work too

i'd put them in the dryer on low with a wet towel. leave them for about 15 minutes.. check them. repeat until the wrinkles are out.

To improve on this method I make my own wrinkle release spray.Here is the recipe....1/3 cup fabric softener 1/3 cup vinegar, 1/3 cup water.Mix it all up in a spray bottle and spray thoroughly and hang and smooth your clothes.I think it works well... if you are in a hurry toss them in the dryer after you spray them and then hang as soon as possible.

A quickie for early mornings is the steam from the shower, just hang your clothes on a hanger and bring them in the bathroom while you shower, the steam releases the wrinkles

Honestly, you can get irons for under $20. I have had a $15 iron for 11 years now (doesn't get used much :S). It would be cheaper on your electric and water bill to just buy and iron instead of rewashing and drying clothes.

Peek into a thrift store. You can find one for $2. You can use any flat surface for an ironing board. An old pillow you don't use anymore, blanket, chair cushion or even towel laid across the top of the dryer or washer will work well.

Be careful if you iron on the floor. I left iron imprints in a carpet once. Yes, I had a towel on top of the carpet, but things happen.

If the clothes have been in storage they are likely to need a freshening up anyway, so I would be the one person that would wash & dry them.

blow dry! or hang in the shower rod after a steamy shower, then wipe wrinkles out
