Remember, though....each self checkout machine has cost someone their job. I dont like them for that reason.

maybe .... but with the baby boomers retiring and a smaller workforce to take over in their place we will need more non-human tellers in the future, it could be a bit of a solution to the work force crisis canada will be facing in the next 10 years....just a thought

There is never a shortage of students who need work to help with tuition. While yes, within certain areas like skilled labour, yes there are shortages, but I don't think we will have a problem with a cashier shortage.

we will never have a scenario of more people than jobs......the 'real' unemployment rate is much higher than you think...when you factor in all the people working part-time who would like full-time employment & can't get it.
