Thu, Jun 16th, 2011, 02:49 AM #18There's a reason these stores can sell things at discounted prices. Besides buying in bulk, they're sourcing a lot of items overseas. aka the cheap Chinese crap that has been saturating our market with lead paints in kid's toys, antifreeze in toothpaste, and brand-names being counterfeited by the wholesalers to move more product. They're exempt from the rigorous quality control that manufacturers here possess, get away with selling sub-standard defective products, and are notoriously unreliable.Counterfeit Oral-B toothbrushes recalled for choking hazard
Last Updated: Friday, July 18, 2008 | 4:18 PM ET
CBC News
Health Canada issued a recall Friday of counterfeit Oral-B Classic 40 Medium toothbrushes because they may pose a choking hazard.
The federal agency said it has learned of one incident in which bristles became stuck in a consumer's throat.
Procter & Gamble Inc. and Health Canada have determined the toothbrush is a counterfeit product. Procter & Gamble have not manufactured this model of toothbrush in almost a decade.
"Health Canada has been working with Dollarama L.P. to ensure that these toothbrushes are removed from sale," the federal agency said. "Dollarama L.P. has voluntarily recalled all manual toothbrushes labelled as Oral-B Classic 40 Medium being sold at their stores throughout Canada."
Consumers with the recalled toothbrush are advised to stop using it and retailers selling the brushes are advised to contact Health Canada.
So yeah - I'll buy hangers or a tub drain plug, or even the odd roll of duct tape from Dollorama (or stationary - love their little notebooks, made from ripped-off copyrighted images.) But never in a million years would I buy a pet food dish that could poison my cats, or a Tylenol that contains god-knows-what, or a condom that *shudder* probably wasn't made by the brand on the box, and had no QC involved in the manufacture or import.

I'm with the others...I used the Dollarama pregnancy tests (successfully...two positives and two sweet little boys), but I would never use these! Oy!

I went to the Offical Lifestyle Condom site and it looks like althought they aren't expired they are 'discontinued' as those type aren't in their product list..you know..the CLEARANCE ones. Which for shampoo and diapers I a-ok with ..but with condoms.. hmm . Maybe not

I have a 20 year old son..if I recommended he use those Dollarama condoms..it would basically be the same as recommended that he use a Dollarama sandwich baggie as a condom
Ok.. maybe not EXACTLY ..but pretty close! I LOVE Dollar stores for Coffee filters, paper plates, gift bags, wrapping paper, gift cards, birthday party baubles, streamers ..you get the idea
