.............What would you do if your boyfriend or husband tried to tell you when you could use your computer example....tell you its is to early or started mumbling starting a fight with you........saying it is ruining your life or he is plainly trying to control you........just being an ass about it.........what would you do?

He might just be missing you and envious of the time it takes away from your relationship maybe? Just putting it out there. Or maybe he is just being an ass. lol
Try to do nothing, just smile and hope he gets over himself. Good luck.

I'd ask him why he feels that way, is it everything I do on the computer or one particular thing? I'd ask myself if the time I spent on there was reasonable compared to the 'doing things together' time I spend - then I'd base my next actions on those answers...whether to reevaluate the relationship overall, or cut back my computer time.

Sounds like it's time for a good sitdown talk with him, ask for specific examples, see what things you can do differently to ameliorate the situation - I suppose, generally ask youself and discover what is more important to you - a balanced, healthy relationship or too much time spent on the computer.
Good luck!

There might be good reason for the BF to be making these requests/suggestions. It might be time to assess just how much time you are actually on the computer. Surfing this site, or others can be very time consuming and possibly taking over all aspects of your life.

If he says it in a controlling voice... there's the door. If he says it like my DH, he's a genius he knows everything LOL !! well I just ignore him. We've been married 14 years so theres things I let just go over my head. He told me once I need to go to how to load the dishwasher school. I said I would after he completed the how to change the toilet roll course. Ahhh love

I remember my now-ex-husband hiding my keyboard one night. It drove me mad, not so much that I couldn't use the computer, but that he did it.
In retrospect, maybe I should have been on the computer less. But wrong way to go about it...
Taking away toys, privileges etc, is what we do to our children for punishments...not our spouses.

If my computer use was ruining my life or someone else's....I'd shut it down and figure out an appropriate time to use it.
