All I ever get for a sample is some sprayed onto a piece of paper when I ask for a sample.

I do this all the time at Sears and Shoppers. I get to wear expensive perfumes for nothing! One of those little vials lasts for a while. I also put some away for my daughters christmas stockings.

I ask for samples at the MAC counter on the glittery stuff I like. I use very little, so the sample lasts me a year at least.
side note...and not proud of this...as teens (young teens like 14/15) my friends and I used to ask for perfume samples then go to the third floor of the mall and drop them over the railing onto the first floor.

I get tons of them too, we take them whe we go to cuba in the fall and give them to the servers and cooks for tips along with money (hmmm no wonder they remember us every year when we go back
)
We also put them in bags and baskets for the homeless. Free is always good!We all need a little sunshine every now and then

I have a tons too!!! But now it's more difficult.One time at Sears the lady give me like 10 perfume samples to try..last time another give me the choice of 2 and she writhe my name on a notebook with telephone to make sure we get just one....sdm dont give samples anymore....she said people abusing so sad....now they selll samples in a box for 90$ selection of popular perfume and when you choose you get the perfume bottle...they want you to purchase of coarse...so glad I made my collection before the cheap recession....no anything is not free i guesse
