So I have this coupon for a free drink at Orange Julius, but the Eaton Centre won't honour it (they say they only do BOGOs). Does anyone know which downtown locations do before I run around pointlessly in the middle of G20 security for a piddly free drink? I'm thinking the Go concourse one might have the same policy...
On another note I walked past 22 (!!!) police doing some sort of tour in the PATH on my way. That is my record for most cops spied standing in a group DT so far.

I have only seen BOGOs personally and had an issue getting them to honour that
Seemingly the police are out in full force already, one of my coworkers went in today and said she was asked for ID several times between the entrance and subway (in their defense, we were told to use the employee entrance by the subway station instead of the main entrance)

And that will only increase as the summit grows closer. York Region guys were all over the place on my walk to work this morning.
It's very handy to have police-issued ID right now.

Come check out the parking lot of the Rogers Center. It is insane here. The most I saw were 19 (police)cars, most unmarked, with tons of police officers in uniform. They might had a meeting or something?! I even saw guns and dogs lol. The joys of the G20.
When I look out the window now I can count at least 15 police men standing or sitting down.
Wonder when they are gonna shut the street down?!Last edited by charlotte1983; Wed, Jun 23rd, 2010 at 08:02 AM.

A couple of weeks ago, the bicycle cops were doing some sort of training down my street (not sure why, except the police station is 2 minutes away). There were 20 of them in formation, doing tight turns.
At least the dog was entertained watching them from the window.

Crowd control. The Mounted Unit does it too.

Before the city started on the West Donlands money pit, er, redevelopment (lots of fun watching workers moving piles of dirt from one location to another & back again), the mounted unit used to park their trailers at the end of my street & wander around down here.
The dog preferred watching the bicyclists. She's a bit scared of the "big doggies".

We have them at every door, and I was in Union SDM this morning and the cashier said she had seen at least 10 come in to buy water since she started her shift an hour before

Dog & I are now watching helicopters doing manoevers outside my window.
Not sure what's causing it, but my floor is now shaking. Helicopters? Construction? Earthquake???
Only lasted 10 seconds, but enough for dog, cat & I to take cover.
